Exciting times ahead, we are eagerly awaiting the first pressing of our second lp "Reality & Visions" to arrive... recorded last April by ourselves in our mate Matt "denim on denim" Morrow's Tru Mould warehouse, out in Clifton Hill. I think it was three or three and a half nights surrounded by oil cans, beer cans, can bongs, toucans, cats, pinnies, galaga, darts, plenty distractions... we set up the 8 track by the drums and twombs would hit start and stop with the end of his drumstick, it was that kind of session...
We put a track from new lp on our playlist on the right- it's called "Slow Me Down"--
We are rapt to be releasing it with Max "The Coach" Kohane's Idget Child label and our new pals Mel and Kody at Exo. We are absolutely PEAKIN with excitement from the line-up we have for the launch. But I'll wait til later to let that one out... more news soon....

"Deaf Wish changed my life. You know that hopeless feeling you get periodically, where you've just given up on rock'n'roll because every single band you see seems empty, trite and kinda lame compared to that kickarse group that is a composite of all the greatest rock'n'roll bands that you've ever seen (or imagine to have seen)? Well, when I walked into the Tote during Deaf Wish's second ever show, I knew I had found the holy grail - the most exciting rock band on the planet! These guys (and girl, at the time) were the most adrenalin-charged, stupidly out-of-control bunch of idiots I had ever seen. They had an irrepressible energy and will-to-chaos, but they had the killer songs to back it up. I was transfixed before their greatness. I bought their CD and played it over and over that night and every night for the next couple of weeks. I couldn't believe they had already broken up after only two shows, but I told all my friends about Deaf Wish. I also urged them to buy this record, because I thought it was an amazing document of spontaneous greatness. Slowly the legend of Deaf Wish grew, as this brilliant band that only a few people had seen. Then one day, while propping up the bar at a local watering hole, somebody told me they were reforming with Pete from Group Seizure replacing Sarah. I was a bit wary of this, but went along to the show anyway. I needn't have worried. Everything I had loved about these guys in the first place was still there. Holy shit!"
It's going to be a monster four band pile up on highway 666 as Vultures of Venus crash into the Birmingham on Thursday the 3rd of ..heir debut LP which is now available through I-Tunes has been receiving strong support and favorable reviews from local radio RRR, PBS and Syn Fm. It will also be available in hard copy on the night. This gig is gonna be fun, fun, fun on the Smith st autobahn. Armed with big rock riffs and blazing electrified keys this is the Vultures first show since their sellout LP Launch. This is a band with a plan; and that plan is to make you do the Can Can. Joining them on the night is Mirrorhouse Antics whos live show is a cross between the Arctic Monkeys and The Stooges. They have just released their debut album, recorded at Bakehouse by Mikey from Eddie Current Suppression Ring. Dan Webb's 60's styled Hammond infused insanity is gonna be something to look out for as well as the 'Wise Flys' : they'll make you laugh they'll make you cry, they'll make you laugh about crying. And don't forget to look out for the crazy clown pinyada filled with burning flesh and give away fun toys for the kids. This is a B.Y.O "leotard friendly event ". So pour yourself into your favorite and come on down !!!
the rest of the guys finish school in a few weeks, but I've still got next year. and at the moment we are trying to organize getting down to melbourne after christmas. mark from the stabs said he'd put on two or so shows for us. but us all being underage it's hard to know whether we can play in bars and stuff. I'm expecting tapes either today or tomorrow, and I'm going to do a run of 50 of a demo that we recorded a year ago. you guys want any copies? hit me up with an address if you're keen and I'll send them down asap. so what have you guys been up to anyway? playing many shows? thinking of coming up here again any time soon/in the next year? peace, -jp
