"Deak Harp Is the best up and coming Harmonica player on the road today" James Cotton...... "Deak understands the language of Chicago Blues and his harp playing sings with a strong, expressive tone and snappy phrasing." Bob Margolin........
" Deak's Harp is from the old School Of Blues" Johm Primer.......... .............. "One of the greatest harmonica entertainment moments I've every seen was the time that my buddy Deak Harp was playing on a show down in Asbury Park, a big ballroom. He had a radio mic on, and he literally jumped down off the stage and ran ALL the way to the back wall, while playing, then all the way back up to the stage and jumped back on the stage and kept playing. It was compelling. It was awesome. I was awed" Adam Gussow

"Both the "busker" street musicians and folk-blues harmonica have a special
place in blues history, but many modern practitioners don't have an
understanding of solo blues dynamics like Deak Harp. He's the rare performer
who has a good feel for the rhythmic and storytelling elements of folk
blues, and he whoops, howls, taps his foot on a board, and sometimes uses a
small kick drum to punctuate songs with percussive sound effects that enrich
the narrative. He cites James Cotton as a mentor, and the heavy Delta tone
of his playing makes that connection clear, although his solo performances
are reminiscent of Detroit's Dr. Isaiah Ross" Steve Pasek Chicago Blues Tour

You need to check out the new Victoria "Blowbox" Harp amp! I was instrumental in designing and getting into their line of top shelf amps. Go to youtube and search me "James Reeser" and there are a couple of recent vids featuring it.
It is a 45 watt 2X8 amp. It looks like a tweed head but yes it has 2 8" speakers in it. No one can believe such a fat rich tone comes from a little amp. It is versatile... light weight... It can be plugged into any speaker cab as it has 2, 4 and 8 ohm output taps. It also has a switch that makes it either a stock 59 Bassman if that is your tone (also for guitar if desired) or flip the switch for the harp special circuits and rich fat harp tone! And yes has plenty of power as a stand alone to keep up with just about any band.
SURE GLAD TO MEET YA'LL AT HOT AUGUST BLUES FESTIVAL AUG 28, YA'LL SOUNDED GREAT AND I LOVED THE HARP.... YA'LL WAS A TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW, WE HAD FUN :)
