La-u Productions (pronounced-LIE-YOU) is a production/promotional company that was conceived out of Jacksonville North Carolina. La-u came to be in early spring 2003 by two elite emcees/producers Telly and Deal. The name La-u had already been a name and trademark of Lauradale Acres (a neighborhood on the outskirts of Jacksonville,NC). In spring 2003, La-u added productions and began putting money up to record for there own mixtape over industry instrumentals. By the summer of 2004 La-u had made its name known from Jacksonville,NC to Chapel Hill, NC. They released underground mix-tapes "Now Or Never" volumes 1 & 2 . After the buzz from the mixtapes they began to organize mic nights for local and up and coming artists. Frustrated by local producers, that were charging too much for beats, Deal began making his own beats and charging a much less fee. Now that La-u had an in-house producer they were ready to aim for the sky. In the summer of 2005 La-u released Deal's solo album entitled "The Commencement LP" in which he produced and wrote. By the summer of 2006 La-u was at it again. They put together more shows only this time it was East NC's chance to get a taste of a Myspace Party. In 2007 they won A talent show in Fayettville,NC that launched them a single record deal with Koch Records. Although La-u has Telly and Deal as the front runners for the company, La-u has many more artists/producers that are sure to blow. Among La-u's main objective is to gain love and respect from the whole world, but are really ready to show the world how versatile North Carolina really is.
