Nati nel 2005 sulle ceneri di altre esperienze musicali, i Dea Madre sintetizzano nel loro nome, nelle loro liriche e nel sound l'eterna contraddizione dell'essere umano: la sua natura animale e, al contempo, spirituale. Contraddizione questa che si fonda ed emerge nel suono a volte tormentato a volte sereno, nei testi allo stesso tempo diretti e criptici, nel la ricerca di una costate sonorità, mai banale, che gioca con l'ascoltatore dipingendone le paure e le speranze. In sintesi i brani dei Dea Madre propongono una lettura della realtà tra il sognante e il disilluso, nella convinzione che siamo esseri finiti che guardano all'Infinità. Le musiche sono di supporto e contrappunto al testo ben espresso dalla voce di Max; grande attenzione alla fluidità e compattezza della sessione ritmica interpretata da Bakk alla batteria e Pelucio al basso. Completano la line-up Rudi (chitarre) e Andre (tastiere) che danno una riposta melodica a metà tra anima rock ed elettronica al sound espresso dai Dea madre. Dea madre appunto: visceralità e Assoluto, carnalità e spirituale, ventre materno e ventre divino, fusione (non confusione) di sacro e umano. Il percorso musicale della band affonda le radici lontano ma trova il suo primo embrione nel 2003 proprio quando i destini di Max, Bakk e Rudi sembrano perdersi: è lì invece il punto di svolta che porta ad una totale reinterpretazione della band che si forma nel 2005 e si completa nel 2007 con l'arrivo di Andre e Pelucio. Proprio in quell'anno è l'uscita del loro primo demo dal titolo “Il fiore del male”, autoproduzione di tre tracce che consente al gruppo di proporsi alla Quinckflow nella persona di Carlo Bellotti. Da lì il percorso che li porta presso il Forears studio nel quale nasce “Lividi” primo EP del gruppo. Il resto della storia sta per compiersi.

Tracing out a starting point of Dea Madre's musical history is utterly particular since it's studded by different experiences and variegated situations which collect the heritage of previous musical backgrounds. The so named band actually gets together in 2005 but is without a definate formation for 2 years, since its historical group is made up by Max, Rudi on the guitar and Bakk on the drums (together since their first steps at the start of the 90s) they were looking for a definition of the band's real soul; The year 2007 is finally the time for the definition of the band's line up which is completed by the arrival of Andrea on the keyboards in May and by Pelucio on the bass in September. However, the work carried on with constance and passion, leads them to ultimate their demo cd realesed in October 2007 with the title "Il fiore del Male" which contains three of their autograph songs. This passage represents a turning point because it allows them to present themselves to specialized labels of the field. Indeed during the M.E.I. in Faenza in November 2007 they have first contacts with Incipit recordings and Quickflow recordings respectively Mr. Daniele Landi and Mr.Carlo Bellotti. The demo attracts the attention of the label that proposes to them a contract of coproduction of an EP with six of their best tracks.They start working in September 2008 at Forears Studios in Florence and they end in Deceber of the same year. So Dea Madre are ready for the release and promotion of their first EP titled "Lividi", a job that doesn't represent a finishing line but a starting point. The group's sound is absolutely particular even if they're generally placed in Italy's pop/rock/new-wave style. Dea Madre sythesize in their name, in their lyrics and sound the eternal contradiction in the human being: his animal nature and, at the same time, spiritual nature. Contradiction that blends and comes out in the sound which is at times tormented and at times tranquil, the lyrics are both direst and cryptic, the search for a sound, never banal, that plays with the listener portraying his fears and hopes. In short Dea Madre's songs suggest considering reality something that goes between a dream and a disillusion, convinced that finite beings look towards the infinite.The music supports and counterpoints the text, rigorously in Italian, well expressed by Max's voice; great attention is given to the fluidity and unity of the rhythnic session interpreted by Bakk on the drums and Pelucio on the bass. The line up is completed with Rudi (guitars) and Andrea (keyboard) who give a melodic answer halfway between rock soul and electronic sound expressed by Dea Madre. Dea Madre precisely: visceral and Absolute, carnality and spiritual, maternal womb and divine womb, fusion (not confusion) of sacred and human.
