BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE Australian Dean Frenkel is a recording artist, performer, author, instructor and anthropology graduate. His specialty is overtone singing and he is a world authority on the subject. He has recorded many self titled and combo albums, film soundtracks, performed for the Womadelaide Festival, authored books on throat singing, meditation and massage, and instructs overtone singing students from around the world including Bavarian State Opera singer Martin Cooke on Skype. Harmonic overtone singing/throat singing is an ancient and extraordinary practice. Exponents can sing multiple notes with their singular voice and sound like a range of intruments including picollo, didgeridoo and organ. It has been practised by indigenous cultures in Asia, Africa, PNG, Canada, Siberia and Europe for millennia, but it is endangered in its traditional grounds. It explores multiple tones within each singing note. Its special singing technique enables the singer to hold a singing breath for twice as long as normal singing does. Dean is also current Guinness world record holder for the longest continuous vocal note (57 secs - 2005). The previous record was held by 'normal singer' Irishman David McFettridge of 29.03 (secs). His last recorded album is MAGIC SOUNDS with ARIA award winning singer LINDA LAASI - now available. I haven't left a network to give the impluse to sell candle holders worldwide - I banned there because I tried to discuss with my love and compassion about the sense of a campaign which is finshed yet after the Olympic Games. But how can we artists looking forward to a process of reconciliation in CHINA - and sure how we can make peace if we give us no time for listening on each others. This is my questions now and I know my place here in Berlin is by my friend of the TID regionalgroup Berlin and not in the cyberspace. I wish you fun and love in Salzburg and see that your friend list here is growing as well. Werner is a good and gentle fellow from OMN.
