BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE Australian Dean Frenkel is a recording artist, performer, author, instructor, anthropology graduate and a sound adventurer. His passion for overtone singing has taken his voice to extraordinary places including ten thousand metres above the ground (in airplanes), around the perimeter of Uluru, inside caves, valleys, on mountain tops, paddocks, spas, art galleries, on Italian, Greek, Polish and Australian television, churches, synagogues, empty water tanks, shopping centre corridors, health retreats, he's had a nasoendoscopy film his vocal chords and an EEG record his brain patterns while overtone singing. In 2005 Dean obtained the Guinness world record for the longest continuous vocal note (57 secs) beating the previous record (29.03 secs) and held it for four and a half years. He has also overtoned in Duomo, Italy one of the world's great cathedral, for soundtracks including multi-award winning 'Salt' and 'A Little Bit Mongolian', formerly a member of Aajinta, Soteria Bell, the Eternal Choir. He has given over one thousand overtone instruction sessions. In 2007 he was appointed Visiting Fellow for the Vocal Group for WAAPA instructing students of opera, acting and music theatre. Has presented for the International Voice Symposium, ANATS National Conference, International Holistic Health Conference, The Physics of the Didgeridoo, and Womdelaide.
