I thought I'd make friends because you directly inspired me to keep going with music in the early 1990s, when I was a student, and all I had was an acoustic guitar, an electric guitar and a delay pedal. I wanted to make recordings, and I remember thinking how impossibly far out of reach this seemed. Then I read an interview with you and Toni Halliday in the NME - or was it Melody Maker - in which you took the readers through the process of making a track, in the process dispelling some of the mystique, by claiming that all your guitar sounds just came from a tiny Zoom; you also went on to say that Curve's claustrophobic sound was achieved by having several tracks that were nothing but white noise! It made me realise that all I had to do was find a 4 track and start experimenting; it also made me realise that successful musicians weren't godlike creatures, just people with imagination.
hey dean, i've been listening to the stuff u sent me for a few a days & its intensity is killing me... CER 2 includes many tracks being worth to get heard by a bigger audience. also it's great to have the original tracks of some dj? acucrack/secret meeting songs. many thanks again, i love them all. oh, and there are some (background) vocals which remind me of toni. is it she? i'd love to hear that u both are still working together.
