My Background:
My Experience
In 1992 I ran for Congress. After my run for Congress I helped found the Independence Party of Minnesota. In 1994 and 1996 I ran for the United States Senate. In 1998 I recruited Jesse Ventura to run for Governor and directed his successful campaign that year. Governor Ventura appointed me to his cabinet for which I served four years. In 2002 Jesse Ventura appointed me to fill out the remainder of Senator Paul Wellstone’s term in the United States Senate.
My Education
I was born and raised in Annandale, Minnesota. I then attended the University of Minnesota where I received my Law Degree.
I am just a common guy that has become disgusted with our corrupt two-party political system; a system that is more interested in waging war with the other party than solving the several critical issues that face our country; a system that has sold its soul to Big Money special interests that now control both Democrats and Republicans.
I am running for the United States Senate to give the voters of Minnesota a real choice in this election. If you believe that either Al Franken or Norm Coleman will change the way Washington does business, then vote for one of them. If you want real change in Washington and an Independent minded Senator that has a proven track record of getting things done with no strings attached, then vote for me.

Dean Barkley's Official Campaign Website
"At an Oval Office signing ceremony, then-Sen. Mark Dayton genially mentioned that Barkley had gotten more done in two days than he had in two years. According to Barkley, President Bush squinted at Dayton and said, 'Sen. Dayton, if I were you I wouldn't be saying that. He may run against you one day.'" --Kevin Duchshere, Minnesota Star Tribune

MinnPost: "Ventura out, but ally Barkley set to run for Senate"
"Since I entered politics, I have chiefly had men's views confided to me privately. Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the Field of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it." HELLO DEAN BARKLEY: I WISH FOR YOU A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS SEASON AND MAY YAHWEH(Jehovah) BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY NEXT YEAR. YOU WOULD HAVE MADE A GREAT SENATOR.
Dean, I have always admired your ability to bring common sense to the table, and I always will. I voted for you today with pride, and I know that independent thinking will eventually win the day. Thank you.
I GOT A DEAN BARKLEY LAWN SIGN IN MY YARD AND A BARKLEY BUMPER STICKER ON MY CAR, I'VE GIVEN SOME MONEY(not alot because i'm not rich) TO YOUR CAMPAIGN AND OF COURSE I'M VOTING FOR YOU. I WISH I COULD VOTE TWICE. YOUR LOYAL VOTER, LOVE, LONNY(LON)ROSELAND.
Hi Thanks for adding me and I listen to you on the Alex Jones show...I live in Thailand and perform in Europe for the past 18 years as ...I finally realized that my own country didn't want me..Guess I was too talented...that scares the amateurs who control the government and the country...The growing tide of independents will hopefully someday be able to take the country away from the criminals who own it now..Best of luck in your campaign...Regards Tom Piccard
I WATCHED YOUR DEBATE WITH norm AND al. - I THINK YOU WERE THE BEST, YOU DID A GREAT JOB! I DONT KNOW WHY ANYONE WHO WATCHED THE DEBATE WOULD VOTE FOR THE OTHER TWO!
