Sounds Like
The Village People, Slim Whitman, Yoko Ono, K-Fed and Rosanne Barr's rendition of the usa national anthem...Also I have a vocal style close to Steve Martin's rendition of "the thermos song."
I'm a musician, singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, blah-blah-blah etc... Living in Seattle. I spend most of my working hours at whatever local Starbucks (cheap office rates), or in my Honda (great cell service and even cheaper office rates)..., behind a piano/in front of a mic, on the side of some mountain near the Alpine Lakes (wonderful black bear and squirrel company), or on the lazy ocean sands of Figi. (OK - I made up the Figi part) I am 6' 4" but most of my photos here are only 3" tall.
I've been hanging around a lot lately in Nashville and LA writing songs as well as running a couple of non-profit web sites JoePanic.com and GraciesCafe.com
In the foreseeable future I'll be working on various Pop, Country and Neo-Soul projects as well as producing a slug of underscore tracks for TV and film. Claim to fame: Over a million downloads of my jazz stuff on the old mp3.com (ok, so it didn't really make me very famous - nevermind - whatever;-) - Better claim to fame: Related to that guy (my bro Scott Krippayne) who co-wrote the American Idol song "This is my now." Let's see... what else..., I released 3 indie jazz CD's in the 90's.... Yeah, they sold well... NOT..., doh! Currently, multiple cuts spinning on TV shows including: ABC Soap   One life to live, "Best of IT," "SOAP," "Faith is now," RCTV, Mac Show Live, Viva la bam, etc... Recent cuts include: Billboard Top 10 (European album charts)
with Stefanie Heinzmann - Universal ...and..., American Idol's Sarah Burgess (PME Records)

REVIEWS OF SOME OF MY JAZZ CDs
"With a vocal style somewhere between Michael Franks and Tom Waits and a band that plays jazz like you read about, Dean Krippaehne is the captain of a tight musical ship. Today, popular jazz does not always accept traditional jazz-style vocalists into its world of acid and groove, but it is difficult to deny this talented artist anything. He is fantastic."
- Riffage.com
"Witty and literate lyrics coupled with bluesy jazz. This Seattle songwriter has a pleasant voice and impeccable phrasing. Guaranteed even to make your sourpuss Aunt Agnes smile".
- Nick Dedina, Real.com
"Dean Krippaehne offers no-nonsense swing and slow blue treatments of several classics"
- Mark Sabbatini - ALL ABOUT JAZZ (magazine)
"Blues and cool-jazz vocalist Dean Krippaehne has been working his groove since the 1980s, his smooth baritone a captivating topping to the organic arrangements that build, shift, and swing underneath. His laid-back holiday songs are a refreshing change of pace from standard shopping-mall fare and make for fine listening all year round."
- Editor, Music.Download.com
"Dean is one those rare musicians that really does have it all...Songwriting and lyrical skills to blow your mind and one of the smoothest most expressive voices it has ever been my pleasure to listen to."
