Dean grew up in Colorado and has always had an interest in music, but it wasn't until living in Japan that he realized it was the bass that would be his true calling. Upon returning from Asia to Colorado, he immersed himself in as much music as possible. While there, Dean was fortunate to be able to perform with some of State's top acts. After almost a decade, he decided to move and now lives and performs in Nashville, TN.
Dean's interests lie in all styles of music from Blues to Jazz, Pop to Rock, African to Cuban. He has played with such artists as Nina Storey, Melissa Ivey, Vince Johnson, Joe Bonner and Musa Konate. Now in Nashville, he performs with The Farewell Drifters, Far From Folsom, Jamey DeRusha, Olivia West, and several other local artists.
I am very excited to announce that I am being featured in the new March issue of Bass Player Magazine.

We discussed my approach to soloing and a resulting article is now being published in next months(March)issue.

In a very real way this sort of exposure pertaining to educational reach and otherwise, have been ongoing goals thoughout my 27 years of playing the bass.
I hope that all of you fellow bassists will find my concepts and approach of some use and enjoy trying them out. Thank You to all the staff members and administrators at Bass Player Magazine for standing behind me.
