Deanna Bogart describes her approach to music as: Bluesion.... it all grows out of the blues.... just doesn't always end there....
"After interning in western swing and R&B with Cowboy Jazz and Root Boy Slim, Bogart has fronted her own tight ensemble for over fifteen years. Playing dazzling piano and soulful saxophone, Deanna’s added the energy of boogie-woogie, contemporary blues, country, and jazz to create a unique fusion of musical styles. Her vocals and songwriting are as full of vitality as her playing – savvy, sensuous, and deep."
-- Amazon.com/music
"...possesses a gift for approaching blues, soul and R&B material with warmth and firmness. Her originals here, in particular the beautifully sung, intelligent ballads "Blue By Night" and "Tender Days," sound as fresh as if she'd magically plucked them out of the air."
-- Downbeat
"Her versatility is truly astounding."
-- ALLMUSIC
"...Bogart reveals the intersections between genres that have fed off one another for decades."
-- Blues Revue
"This woman is a troubador.
A teller of life stories and roads traveled."
-- BluesBytes.com
"Bogart plays a jumpin' piano ... that rollicks with a fast tempo and panoramic solos. ... a sound that transcends genre classification … The latest offering by Bogart is really good music."
–Rick Galusha, Blues Wax
"Luster, sophistication and soul"
-- The Washington Post
How was Top of the Rock? I'm sorry I missed it. This year I'm meeting Dusty & Val Scott in Telluride for Blues & Brews since they've not been there and couldn't do both.
Was great to see you, Mike, Dan and Scott in Eureka Springs. I'm just glad the Ballroom was the venue that Rags had me work so I could see you guys.
Hope the road continues to be good to you & the band!
Deanna, Here's to a good summer for you and all the folks you play with. Hope to see you on the road. The Blues is alive because of artist like you. Peace, Arlic

Yep! It's you alright! I was a roadie for Chuck Wagon and the Wheels back in the early 80s and saw Cowboy Jazz at some joint in S.F. after hearing CJ on KFAT Radio... Nice to see you! Charlie "Martini" Martinez BFBB
Thank-you so much for the add. Really GREAT music & beautiful vocals. Will definitely get your CD. I put one of your songs on my page. Hope you don't mind. :~) Dar
Aaahhhh, Stevie...I lean towards standards like "I Wish". But, I have always considered him an enigma because I don't believe that his lyrics would be as meaningful had the music behind them not been so incredible, or if they had been sung by anyone other than him...I think his personal magic is in the whole Stevie experience, the complete package...his music, to me, can't be judged as individual parts...does that make any sense or am i just nuts? I never considered him a great lyricist as much as I would consider him just an incredible music maker...but, I could be wrong... :) XOXO right back at ya! Suzanne
