DeAnna's MySpace is maintained by her record label, Rustic Records, Inc. She does try to visit now and again, so if you want to leave her a message, simply post a comment.
DeAnna started singing at a young age, after her guitar teacher realized she had a great voice. “When I turned 15,” she says, “I started singing in bars and from then on I never had a weekend off until I got married.” The next thing she knew, her manager Jack McFadden, had gotten her signed to Warner Bros. and she was on tour, opening for Billy Ray Cyrus.
While on Warner Bros., she released two singles, “Texas Sidestep” and “Never Gonna Be Your Fool Again,” but DeAnna decided that her family was more important than her career and she tried to retire. However, it didn’t seem to stick. “Singing is my calling,” she says, “and I missed it.” Once her son was old enough to not need her as much, she decided to “get back on the horse and ride it wherever it took me.”
DeAnna signed with Rustic Records, Inc. in January 2008. Her album, Hank Stuff, released in the fall. Made up entirely of Hank Williams classics, DeAnna’s big voice gives new life to these popular staples in the traditional country music repertoire. DeAnna’s songwriting is also one of the industry’s best kept secrets, and fellow Rustic artist, Nikki Britt, recently cut one of latest songs “Any Fool but Me” on her debut album Ready to Ride (released September 2008).
So here’s DeAnna, with some life experience under belt and a voice that always stops people in their tracks. She’s got a new set of songs and a new understanding of what her music means. Keep on eye on this girl, because you never know what DeAnna might do next.
