Born about 2000 at Schubas Tavern in Chicago... a John Langford variety show called "Here Be Monsters"??? I write a Gospel song and decide it'd be fun to have a gospel band. Next thing ya know, I've got transplants from the south and The kind folks from the Hideout knockin' at my door and the "Supper & Salvation" shows begin. The fabulously talented Kathleen Judge agrees to make our posters and the fun continues. Well, at some point the band ends up with many rock stars and we all get too busy to rehearse. So, after our 2002 show at Nevin's in Evanston; I stop taking shows.
Well, here comes summer of 2008 and early member Lawrence Peters entices me to put a band back together to play his "Day In The Country" Festival at The Hideout in Chicago... well one thing leads to another, the love and fun flow and heck, now we are a band again and spreadin' the Gospel cheer.
Come on along!
Peace, out, Deanna
