Jager Uprising Review (Spectrum, Sydney) – featured in Brag
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 20. BY DREW CLARKE.
In the spotlight sits Deanna Wesson - a petite girl in a black babydoll dress, all alone with her Yamaha keyboard. For the first time I can recall, the stage at Spectrum actually looks big. She delivers her raw and emotional lyrics with a soft touch, singing about typical teen issues (relationships, crushes, broken hearts, loneliness, etc), but with a maturity and vocal range beyond her years. Her powerful voice is smooth, soulful & passionate and at times indecently sexy as she purrs about her perfect man. We are treated to a minimalistic song played on rhythm sticks – a piece she wrote on the train up from Melbourne – which silences the room as it fills with beautiful music. Amazing.

Really enjoyed your music and wishing you every success with your career.

“My Desire.” Part 2. “Touch.”
“Through the woodland glade You appeared, a personification, of everything beautifully feminine A glorious Goddess, man made, but designed with Heavenly grace. You smiled and walked towards me. Kissed me with your sensual, soft, succulent lips Ran your finger tips down my back and up my spine The scent of your body was unique A magnificent fragrance of female hormones With a faint touch of honeysuckle, cinnamon and patchouli I would never forget this moment in time Your skin had the exquisite texture of warmed porcelain Your eyes, your hair, where passion would not dare to go I touched you You pushed me back. ”No”. I was yours and if you were mine It would be on your terms in your time. You danced with me You danced for me A pirouette that twirled us to the floor. You sat astride me, caressed me, undressed me Consumed me, I had never felt like this before. The way you moved on me was ecstasy The perfect rhythm and I never wanted to let this go. You played me like a guitar, every passionate note A crescendo of the flamenco. You whispered “I wanted you from the very first moment you looked at me. I burn for you and the power of my love is like a raging sea. We’ve only just begun. This time you’re mine. Your turn will come.”
Similar to yourself not been on here much, so little time and much to do. Been writing lots of music, gigging, trying to work out fatherhood with a 8 month old baby and generally having a good time. Still nice to hear your tunes, listened to ooh la la a few times. Keep up the good work and keep in touch
