Music History
I've been working in the music industry since 1987. I've released three full length albums, and three EP's since that time and continue to grow my tree of musical exploits. My recordings combined have sold over 2000 copies and my music has been featured on two compilation CD's. I've also been featured on Midwest Music Makers (Dubuque, IA.) twice and the popular Paula Sands Show which airs on the Quad Cities NBC affiliate. I spent two years in the house band at Chestnut Mountain Resort in Galena, IL. and have well over 1000 live shows to my credit. I've donated my musical talents to The Illinois Special Olympics, The Galena History Museum and the Muscatine County Home. I spent two years as a talent buyer at The Rock Island Brewing Co gaining experience in production and the quarks of the music industry.
Most recently I spent 2007 offering free live audio/video recordings to regional musicians and artist. I recorded over sixty live performances in 2007-08 and have donated my time to a short film by Marc Hans Showalter. In April of 2008 I released a digital short of my own entitled "The Last Stand", featuring a wonderful song by Jeff Hill "The Spirit of Crazy Horse". In July of 2008 I managed to pull five top area producers together and document Camp Euforia, a weekend of music and community. This project is currently in an editing phase and should be finished by winter of 08-09
I've always found alternative ways of presenting my art and I've carved my own path in the regional music scene. You won't find me playing bar gigs much anymore but my love for music is as passionate as ever. I look forward to many more years of playing, producing, editing, and recording. Check out my personal collection of music videos which have received over 15,000 video views.
Well, theres a lot of crap about me up there but I have to say my most rewarding accomplishment to date is Exploration Iowa. This is a website and idea I created using audio and video to promote music and culture here in Iowa and the Midwest. Please check it out and tell your friends about our cause.
Art and Graphic Design
I work in many different styles and I've never been afraid to experiment with anything. I've worked with pen and ink, acrylic, oil, colored pencil, chalk, watercolor, clay, sculpture, animation, stop motion animation, video and sound.
My pieces have varied in size from a small 4"x4" canvas to 8'x10' mural size. I honestly don't believe I'm that good at any particular aspect of art, and understand if you don't care for what I do. What matters to me is creating things and the freedom I feel while doing it.
I've been lucky enough to have sold a few pieces and worked as a free lance graphic designer since 1985. I've created a few photo albums on my pic page and you can view more of my work there.
