Here's a shortlist of the most prominent influences at the moment: Dido, Frou Frou, Arcade Fire, Muse, Coldplay, U2, Stars, Postal Service, Enya, Hans Zimmer, James Horner, John Williams, Frankie Vallie, Herman's Hermits, Michelle Branch, Sixpence...... do I even need to say the Beatles, robin hood, back to the future, playing chess with mick, jane austen, star wars, medieval sagas and times, the golden age, cinema, the golden age of cinema....
DEAR DAYSTAR's My City was featured in the indie short film Fire Song, which I believe was shot in the University of Oxford, and which you can see right here in this shnazzy embedded youtube widget thing below. Keep your spectacles handy for the subtitles, though; it's in German. Fire Song's now up for consideration for several international film fests. I'll let you know what happens. Good luck, Joyce!

Hey, it's October, the leaves are busy burning to gold, the wind has picked up and inhaled a crisper scent, and I have something to report to you:... there's a new EP of a few songs recorded between 2004 and 2007 on iTunes, and it is NOW AVAILABLE.
