With an EP and a mini album, entitled ‘Not all who wander are lost’, recorded at Sqwad HQ, 2009 saw the band achieve more than anticipated. With winning ‘Battle of the uni bands’, and sharing the stage with bands such as, Resonate, GO-X, Fights and Fires, KOOPA and Death Quit Dancing, Death Before Sunrise were offered multiple record deals. After much discussion the band decided upon working with ‘Casket Music’. The album is now available from high street and online stores. The band will be back in the studio January 2010 and fans can expect tours that will be explosive! .. .. With a special thanks to Magden Audio and all the fans for the continuing support. The bands original line up consisted of Rhys Edwards, Matthew Wallace, James Hadley and Richard Fisher. The band originally came about because of their shared love of Metallica, but soon took on a sound of their own. The band played some gigs around South Wales playing Green Day, Blink 182 and The Atari’s covers whilst also writing their first original songs. The band then went into the studio to record a 3 track demo... .. .. ..In December 2008 the band changed their name to Death Before Sunrise, and prepared to record their 7-track MCD ‘Not All Who Wander Are Lost’, and sees the band get serious about the music they are creating. They have gigged heavily through 2009, and built up a fan base in South Wales having shared the stage with bands such as Resonate, GO-X, Fights and Fires, KOOPA and Death Quit Dancing... ...... .."Lyrically, these boys stick to personal experiences and relationships and singer Richard Fisher has a pleasant voice aided and abetted by some overdubbed harmonies. The vocals might be delivered with a distinct mid-Atlantic twang but thankfully unlike their American cousins there are a few attempts at ‘humour’ adding a more adult perspective. The sound is polished and much more accomplished than you would expect from a band barely a year old. The riffs sparkle and catch the ear on tracks like ‘Will There Be A Moment’ and ‘Into the Night’ with lead guitarist Rhys Edwards providing tasteful textures and solos that occasionally belie that metal background." .. Welsh quartet Death before sunrise are one of those bands, trying to exist in the middle of the two scenes. They have no problem knocking out catchy songs, powered by slightly out of tune guitars, but this is just too ragged to set them on the road to fame just yet. They really need to buff themselves up and give their poppy anthems the production they deserve if they want to shine in their chosen field."..
