DEATH KNELLY is Chase Jackson of Durant, Oklahoma. He started this music project after becoming bored with his studies at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, where he received his BA in Theatre. (Acting/Directing & Musical Theatre) He writes, performs and records all his songs on his computer in his apartment using a program by the name of Audacity. He has played only one live show in a backyard in a tiny Oklahoma town by the name of Happyland. He would love to play more shows soon. He enjoys sewing, reading plays, imitating Amy Sedaris and dancing to 80’s era Prince, Janet Jackson and Hall & Oates songs. He sites Sonic Youth, Kim Deal, PJ Harvey, The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, Nina Simone, Suicide, Elliott Smith, Nico and Arthur Russell as his biggest musical influences. His 3 favorite filmmakers are David Lynch, Pedro Almodovar and John Waters. His favorite food is spaghetti and his favorite Golden Girl is Dorthy, even though he relates more with Blanche.
