Hailing from a small but ruthless city in West Texas, the band was formed in the spring of 2007 by former Swindlers drummer Kenny Bautista and former lead guitarist of VEX Javi Barquera. Later into the year Demonstruction members Danny David and Freddy Burmea were invited into the band. The band composes music influenced by Germanic Thrash and Black Metal to complete the sounds of blasphemy. Attacking religions such as christianity, catholicism and many other faith based religions, Death Rites 666 has recieved much recognition in their home town. This type of music is not taken lightly in West Texas due to the amount of people who live there that waste their lives praying to jesus christ and his make belief father who many call god.
The band entered Noise Farm studios in the spring/summer of 2008 to record their first full length album Death Cult which will be released on Negativity Records in the summer of 2009. In the late summer of 2009, Freddy Burmea was releaved of his position due to lack of dedication and several other personal reasons which will be kept behind closed doors in respect of his privacy. Death Rites 666 introduced a very dedicated and very skilled musician. Curtis Wortham, who also is involved with a local band known as The All Father was hands down accepted to join the band as the new bass player.
