About me:

Hello, and welcome to my photography page! I used to do things like help edit a folk magazine, and write articles & reviews for both printed & web-based magazines, but now I'm in love with my photography (and lots of other things besides of course!). There's nothing nicer than getting out there with the camera, then coming home to work on the photos! I love nature and landscape photography best of all, but also really enjoy the challenge of working in low light, especially at folk gigs, drama and literary events, and at festivals. I'll happily consider commissions, just get in touch and we can discuss!

    Hi Debbie,

I dropped by to see changes you announced on your profile, I remember my enjoyment for the sheep picture, I'm glad to see it again after re-process.
I think a few more pics on this page wouldn't be too much ;)

Hello Debs, it's been awhile since I've heard from you, glad to hear the festival went so well.  I'm fine, trying to develop and finish songs, various other projects, etc... Today I've been cleaning and switched out a pair of curtains, but now am moving on to music.  I see you did get your photos all changed, I love that new photo of the sheep!  Love, Lori xx

Keep in touch. I use Facebook a bit - also Twitter for fast updates. Are you on Twitter?  Listening to Cara Dillon right now- great voice/album.  Hope your festival went well.  best wishes Pauline x

    Hi Debs

Just realised that I hadn't been over here for a while so thought I would say hello. Your page looks better and better every time I see it. Great photos Debs. Hope you enjoyed your day off today.

Don't ask... I'm getting loads of hassle with the brochure!!! Two gigs I've organised in the autumn (Bellevue Rendezvous and Rachel Hair/Delyth Jenkins, then Patsy Reid in the spring!

Mary Black isn't really my show... I just made the introductions!

It's a good effect.  I know what you mean about HDR, but it can be used to good effect, too.  I noticed you mentioned experimenting.  Did you find it successful?

My Dad used to take 3 pictures on different stops to be sure to get a good shot, but never combined them.  He was using a hand held light meter in those days, mind you.

    Hi Debs
Cropredy was fabulous, if a little tiring on our old bones! Weather was tremendous - very sunny, very hot. A curious mix of music, with the Fairport set being the highlight, especially the 6 songs by Yusef/Cat Stevens. With the crowd shouting for "Father & Son", he was so relaxed saying "please don't ask for that one . . . we haven't rehearsed it", and went on to play a stunning version of "Peace Train". Personally he was our highlight (although Ralph McTell was marvellous and a blistering set from Richard Thompson). We didn't do any playing, but did drink a lot, slept very little and survived on cheese/ham toasties and burgers. Altogether a wonderful time . . . we've come back to have a rest. Met some lovely new people and caught up with some internet friends - remarkable 3 days!
Hope you're well and life is treating you well, hugs - Carolyn & Mark xx

Thanks for the comment and photo comments Debbie! Texel was indeed beautiful, a very special island. Good to hear about your car and decorating - hope the latter won't take too much longer! Andy x

Thanks for the comments Debbie. I have been very happy to be able to do the three tips this summer! We're just coming to the end of our week's holiday at the seaside at Zandvoort in Holland  (back tomorrow). We've been so lucky with the hot and sunny weather - even 30 degrees on Wednesday - but we're pleased it's cooler today for a visit to Amsterdam. We've also been to the stunning island of Texel and the lovely town of Haarlem. Hope you're enjoying your break and the new car. I've been getting to grips with driving our left-hand drive hire car this week! Andy xx
