About me:

Hi, I’m Debbie, candidate for the 46th Congressional district of California. I represent the City of Huntington Beach, currently serving as Mayor. I have been a community volunteer and leader for more than 20 years, and am currently serving my second term on the City Council.
I’m a passionate environmental activist, some of my biggest projects include: working to stop the Orange County Sanitation District’s massive dumping of partially treated wastewater into the ocean, sustainable energy and green building programs, and traveling around the country speaking about energy & environmental issues.
I have lived in Orange County for 40 years and I’m keenly aware of the issues facing the constituents of the 46th Congressional District, which stretches along the coast from Costa Mesa to the Palos Verdes Peninsula. I am running for Congress because I think we need new people with new passion and new ideas who have experience working across party lines to get results.

I read a blog the other day on the Daily Kos and found out you have the chance to be my representative over Roarbacker. I live on the tiny strip of Long Beach that was gerrymandered for Roarbacker so he could mine the older, conservative voters in Palos Verdes. But after reading about your background I am very excited to vote for you and get the message out that Roarbacker must go in favor of a democrat who stands for real change.
