Race to the car like I'm getting ready to take the checkered flag. The heat makes me sweat. All my sins are being distilled from my pores.
My pockets jingle with a enough change to to feed a small family in a Sally Struthers commercial.
Stop at pump three, sometimes four.
The cooler is cold. They keep it at a frosty 38 degrees.
The cans are colored like a tree 50's christmas tree.
Red White and blue is the choice, I guess am feeling patriotic today.
Crack open the can. The hiss is the real prelude to a kiss.
Crank up the Dylan, shout the words to all the assholes passing by.
open repeat, open repeat.

What does one send to the Lighthouse indeed! At any other time Lily could have suggested reasonably tea, tobacco, newspapers. But this morning everything seemed so extraordinarily queer that a question like Nancy’s—What does one send to the Lighthouse?—opened doors in one’s mind that went banging and swinging to and fro and made one keep asking, in a stupefied gape, What does one send? What does one do? Why is one sitting here, after all? (Woolf)
