Debbie Nunn wrote her first song at the age of 10 and now she has a catalogue of her own music. For her new album " Here for You " ( AGR / Universal ) she has co-written 10 tracks and penned one by herself.
Debbie was born in Australia but her family are all originally from London, England. Her parents moved from England to Australia just before she was born. She's the fifth of five children. Her passion for singing started the first night she was born Debbie's cry kept the whole nursery awake. The doctor laughlingly said "your daughter has good vocal chords ", Mrs .Nunn.
Debbie was inspired by her Dad who played piano, her Mum who introduced
her to the sentimental Hollywood musicals, her brother Geoff who loved the Beatles, played drums and guitar and sister Linda who was always singing in her bedroom.
At the age of four Debbie would sit in front of the record player with her ear to
the speaker listening to all her favourite albums one in particular " The Sound of Music ". She had a natural ability of impersonating singers and would entertain her mum for hours.
Debbie also love to dance and was a student at Janet Clarke's school of dancing London. Her parents, Rose and Bill struggled to make ends meet to pay for Debbie's tuition.
Always willing to put her feet in the deep end, Debbie at the weekend would travel to the West End of London and without any kind of rehearsal she would hand her music to the band leader and perform. Debbie got into her first working covers band when she was just nineteen years old and at the same time she was singing and playing a few chords on the keyboard in an original band. Within a few months they appeared at the famous ' Mean Fiddler ' and ' Rock Gardens '.
At the age of 20 Debbie worked professionally as a singer in the U.K and abroad. With Debbie's dedication and enthusiasm it didn't take her long before she started to record original music working with some of the U.K's best songwriters and music producers.
In 2004 Debbie met Spencer Jaye and they instantly realized they had the same interest's and drive. They started work immediately and completed their 1st album that year called " Always In My Heart ". In 2005 the album got three nominations for the UK Country Radio Awards including Album of the Year, Single of the Year ( ' What a Woman Wants ' ) and Song of the Year ( ' Always In My Heart ' ).
Debbie has travelled worldwide and performed in Las Vegas, Russia, Singapore and at the legendary Blue Bird Cafe in Nashville.
Debbie's key influences do not fall into the typical mould from Shirley Temple, Julie Andrews to Madonna and Hollywood musicals, quite unexpected from someone who delivers such a driving blend of Country Rock and Pop.
