Chicago singer/songwriter Debe Welch has been a professional musician and songwriter for over 20 years. She is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS). She moonlights as a studio musician and back-up singer, and divides her time jamming, gigging and offering insight to several local groups. Her band plays regularly in the Chicago area.

Some other bits of information: I was raised in a home filled with music. My Mom and my late step-Dad, George Peterman loved music and knew many country artists such as Merle Haggard and Buck Owens. My Dad co-wrote a song with Buck. I signed my first record contract at the age of 18 with Kiderian Records, a Chicago based record label. I also played in several Chicago area bands, including Witness, a Christian rock band in the 80's. -Debe

Debe's studio buddies--as she affectionately refers to as her Drones are featured on her CD "Crazy". That talent consists of Bobby "One Take" Mielcarski on drums and backup vocals, Rob "Birdman" Matz on bass, Rich Matz on lead guitar, Jack Mazzenga on lead and rhythm guitars, mandolin and banjo. The newest member of the band is Andreanna Moravec, who plays a wicked electric violin and doubles on the keyboard. She will be featured on the new CD.

Debe's debut CD "Not The Way I Planned" is a wonderful collection of acoustic pop-rock ballads. With smooth vocals, tight harmonies and haunting melodies, her songs will play through your head repeatedly. Debe's second CD "Crazy" was released in June 2002. It's a vibrant and upbeat album with more rock tunes mixed in among poignant ballads. An unplugged acoustic CD and a new studio CD are due out soon. That is, if all goes well...
