Debi Candlish began her life in the American southern town of Greensboro, North Carolina where she grew up listening to old and new blues alike as well as old time country and gospel music. After getting through University she left that music behind and travelled the world for nearly 20 years. She landed in Australia and was amazed to find that the music she loved was alive and well in Melbourne. Whilst running the front of house at "Muddy Waters Cafe", she decided to pick up a guitar and started taking close notice of Melbourne's amazing bottleneck players such as Skip Sail, James Bridges, Alex Burns,and Steve Plater who regularly played at Muddy's. Once she started learning from them there was no stopping her. She spent the next few years learning her licks and performing at the same time with The Dirty Rivers Band. She started soloing as well but then was struck down for a few years with Breast Cancer. Something she fought hard and survived. She is now back in the saddle and has just finished recording her debut CD which is out now! You can purchase through myspace message, JB Hi Fi, The Last Record Store or through Black Market Music!
