I am making music on the West Coast here in San Diego and LA with producer/drummer Danny Campbell, and his never ending supply of misfits and miscreants, amazing players with fast ears and a high tolerance for tequila. Some of my favorites: James East (bass) Tim Pacheco (congas, trumpet, vocals) Davey Carano (bass, vocals, guitars) Dave Curtis ( bass, keys, guitars, vocals) Mark Campbell (bass), Robin Henkle, (guitars). and I am sure I'll be meeting a few others down the road.
Influences
Emmy Lou Harris, Tracy Chapman, Miles Davis, Mississippi John Hurt, the Ocean, Lucinda Williams, Bessie Smith, Surfing, my Dad, Bill Macpherson, Keeva, Pooh, Greg McGrath, Indigo Girls, David Gray, Mark Twain, Jack Johnson, Norah Jones, Brad Paisley, my brothers and sisters...the mamas and the papas, Billie Holiday, U2, Alison Krauss, John Mayer, Johnny Lang, Sade, Locos Por Jauana, this band I used to play with in Costa Rica: Sol y Arena, Keb Mo', Leona Lewis, Bob Dylan, Tony Rice, Chris Brown, Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Ne-Yo, Keith Urban, Brett Dennen, Fleetwood Mac, J.J. Cale, Liz Phair, Marvin Gaye, Taj Mahal.
Sounds Like
a girl with a guitar, except when I am lucky enough to play with my friends, when we sound like a front porch jam.
Hey Ya, welcome to My space, good to have you. If you love the tunes and the vibe please check out my website,

I know that Myspace is a powerful place to network and I want to do that, I just wish we could do it outside. Too much time on a computer and my head starts swimming.
But here is what is from my life in music lately:
RIGHT NOW:
Release date May 1st 2009 for "While You're Waiting", a 7 song EP of tunes that are just that, a little appetizer while you're waiting for the big record I have been working on for 6 months....We'll be at the VILLAGE UNDERGROUND in NYC MAY 1st 8pm...
LAST COUPLE OF YEARS:
I put out two CDs independantly (well, what a word: I had a bunch of help, people pre-bought the cds, and I got a deal on every player and owe my credit card company a heap) but without label support anyway, you can buy them at CDBaby.com/deblois, or of course on iTunes, and I have tirelessly been touring the Nation ever since. In 2006 I played the Maui Film Festival, in 2007 the Monterey Music Summit, this year I got to open for the folk rock band America at the Ritz in Naples, FL, and of course I make an appearance at every bar and honkey tonk that'll have me between here and Mississippi. Plus a few in California, the Bahamas and Costa Rica.
I am reading Miles Davis' autobiography, I love to surf, my dog's name is Lucky. My favorite color is blue, and I can hold my breath for almost 2 minutes. I have 6 brothers and sisters, and they are kick ass every one.
About this page: I have been very active in Domestic Violence causes all of my adult life. I noticed a need in the world pertaining to Same Sex Domestic Violence. It happens more than people know. Unfortunately there are a number of gay people who barely consider themselves worthy or valued as a gay person much less a Domestic Violence Victim. There are also very limited resources, statistics, or information, for Same Sex Domestic Violence. Hopefully through empowerment and education we can change some of this. :D
Thanks for the add. just saw you were into good bands...
we have this brand new band that we just got started and I would respect your opinion 100% on the songs! We work super hard so pls let me know what you think...
In life, we all have goals. Goals are what drive us, what push us forward, what give our life purpose and meaning.
My main goal is to appear and perform my original poem, "Half Hearted," on The Ellen Degeneres Show. I've been working on this goal for 2 years, and I can't give up. If you would like to help, please visit www.RendaWriter.com and sign my online petition that I created to help me get the attention of the show's producers and get me on the show.
Most big goals are reached by setting smaller goals along the way. So my goal is to go from 574 signatures to 650 signatures by May 1st. I can do that easily with your support. Thanks for your support.
