A Canadian fire ball this "little" girl packs on punch onstage and off. Starting her international and award winning performance career at the age of four, Deb has wowwed audiences all over the world with her addictive and compelling energy. The majority of her songwriting and recordings are a co-venture with long time music partner and fellow canuck, George Leger III. It has been said of their music and I quote " their songs are born in a place where the soul and spirit meet in heated conversation."
Labeled both New Country, American / Alternative Country and recently ( just wait for the next album "My Angel") Inspirational Country, Deborah's music lands firmly in your heart and can literally take you on a journey.
Deb has had the privilage of playing with some of the industries who's who including Larry Treadwell credits include Thomas Dolby, The Rolling Stones and Cyndi Lauper and Mick Mahan long time bass man for Pat Benatar and also has enjoyed playing with Martina McBride and both of them are part of her "full" band and reside in Los Angeles California where Deb herself resided until 2005. Since coming to Nashville, Deb has developed a strong acoustic solo performance ability that is both revealing and vunerable. Playing both the Guitar and the Piano her ability to capture a room is comparable to the cream of the crop right here in music city.
Music Connection described Deborah's sound and voice as a possible New Country Alanis Morrisette, while others have compared her to the likes of Sherrie Austin, Faith Hill, Sheryl Crow and even Dolly Parton. The one thing everyone can agree on however is that Deborah Bishop's sound is distinctly her own.
While Deb has appeared all over the world including London and Africa, Deborah Bishop and her "Full" band have performed at various venues all over Los Angeles, including Platinum Live, The Joint, 14 Below, Lava Lounge, Studio City Bar & Grill, and the Derby. Their songs have been featured on KLOS 95.5 Local Licks. And their debut album, Just My Alibi, won the Los Angeles Music Award for Independent Americana Album of the Year and has enjoyed top ten chart action across the internet as well as radio play across the United States
Since arriving in Nashville Deb has thoroughly enjoyed the world renowned music scene that Nashville is famous for. She has played various stages around town including on the riverfront during Fan Fair, now known as the CMA
Music Festival. Deb's favorite experience so far has been signing autographs and meeting Country Musics many fans while being featured at the Great American Country Booth. Deb also hosts a local Songwriting Showcase at Caffeine's on Demonbruen every third Saturday of the month as the Chapter co-ordinator for the Nashville chapter of www.songsalive.org.
Deborah Bishop and long time music partner George Leger III have enjoyed a recent event that merges their talents with Music Row by the signing of a publishing deal with long time music row resident Jo Crow of Crowe Entertainmentm and they are both very excited to be working with Jo.
Deborah also enjoys a thriving practice as a Life Coach, tele-seminar developer and trainer, speaker and author you can check out more info on that at her website www.thesuccessangel.com. Deb is excited to be working on her next album "My Angel" and the completion of her first book, "So You feel Like Crap, Now What?" Also, look for her and fellow artists Jon Roniger and Tory Sparks as they will be touring under the name "The Music City Transplants" and coming soon to a stage near you.
