   Deborah's Comedian Bio
BioDeborah is a stand-up comedian. In 2006 she performed at The Underbelly at The Edinburgh Festival. Her show was called “Deborah Frances-White is Phoning It In”. Edinburgh fest review website Hairline wrote "Remember her name as in years to come you will see it among the big ones". Deborah hopes that this is true - otherwise that review has falsely raised her expectations. At this year's Edinburgh Festival she is performing at The Gilded Balloon. Her show is called DEBORAH FRANCES-WHITE'S “HOW TO GET ALMOST ANYONE TO WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU”. The show contains both jokes and practical advice - sometimes at the same time. It previewed in June in New York at The Pit. London previews are listed at "upcoming gigs". Deborah is the co-founder and artistic director of The Spontaneity Shop, the UK's premiere improv group. Deborah is also a screenwriter and just sold a screenplay to Fox Searchlight. She likes to make stuff up. She prefers if it's funny.
Websitealmostanyone.co.uk phoningitin.co.uk the-spontaneity-shop.com
InfluencesShe has been described on Radio 4 as the love-child of Dave Gorman and Dame Edna Everage. She wishes her love-aunts were Mrs Merton and Joan Rivers - can you have love-aunts? She also wishes she thought like Demetri Martin but she never will. She thinks Steve Hughes, Katy Brand and Charlie Brooker are geniuses but she’s actually glad she’s not cynical enough to be any of them so she can’t call them influences just people she admires massively. As a kid she watched Dave Allen for years and she thinks he was an early crush because of that three piece suit and whisky glass - does that count as an influence?
TV ShowsVarious bits and bobs you haven't seen - she made a pilot of DreamDate an improvised romcom show she invented with Pozzitive TV for ITV. She has not yet made a series but has sold the format to Fremantlemedia (American Idol, Thank God You're Here) so watch this myspace...For like about 5 years... And maybe something will happen... Either that or it won't.
FilmsNone but she just sold a screenplay she co-wrote called"The Wedding Pact" to Fox Searchlight - it has a director attached. She now has various other Hollywood projects in the mix which has surprised her greatly and brightened up her 2007 no end. She will certainly be writing amusing cameos for herself so watch this myspace...
AlbumsShe is working on a song called "Sugar Daddy" which she thinks Beyonce Knowles will be keen to perform.

About me:
I'm a big facebook fan. Come visit me there. Also this picture of me is to promote my Edinburgh show Deborah Frances-White's "HOW TO GET ALMOST ANYONE TO WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU". I don't normally have photos of myself surrounded by men trying to light my cigarette although now I've tried it I may do it more often. (Everything else is below in my biog - look down! look down!)
Who I'd like to meet:
Mike Myers - I think he and I would get on really well. Mike you probably think you can't get in touch 'cause you're single now and I'd take it the wrong way. I wouldn't. Send me a message. Oh also Jon Stewart and I would hit it off I'm almost sure of that. He seems funny and clever. Actually if he got in touch I might take that the wrong way... on purpose.

PANTHER - 7 HERTZ - TIGERS! @ PACKHORSE - THURS MAY 1st

Leeds - 208 Woodhouse Lane - LS2 9DX - DOORS - 8pm £5

Tickets: http://www. seetickets. com/s. asp?a=panther&p=6312

Panther

Panther is some mutant form of Charlie. Having recently supported The Gossip, Panther’s music is hard match of damaged soul, falsetto disco and broken synth fueled freakouts which is as addictive as it is challenging. This solo affair of Charlie Salas-Humara isn’t easily ignored for his unpredictable and energetic performances tainted with throbbing bass, minimalistic hooks and jittery dance routines. Panther’s influences run deep and take as much from Pop and R&B as Free Jazz and Punk.

7Hertz

Fluid and engaging, 7 Hertz fluctuate and mutate live before your very ears. incorporating all or none of the following instruments - basson, violin, voice, double bass, french horn, glockenspiel, clarinet, mandolin, trumpet - they improvise glorious pieces with total, beautiful spontaneity.

Tigers!

Tigers! - either the worlds most criminally underated band. TIGERS! we're kicking ass when PANTHER we're completing the american version of the KEY STAGE ONE exam! TIGERS! have played with almost every good band on earth including COUGHS, KIT, THE LOCUST, EATS TAPES, FELIX KUBIN, WOLVES...ETC! TIGERS! are not funky! Thats just claptrap talk to encourage people to get into PRINCE! TIGERS! will kick your head clean off regardless of whether you have one or not.

to paraphrase m.j. fox '....maybe you guys aren't ready for this yet.....but your kids are gonna love it.'

TALIBAM! + STIG NOISE SOUND SYSTEM + BILBAO SYNDROME

MONDAY MAY 5th
THE PACKHORSE - LEEDS
LS2 9DX

£5 DOORS 8pm

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Tickets from See Tickets: http://www. seetickets. com/see/event. asp ... iller1=see

TALIBAM!

Hilarious two piece free-noise instigators from NYC. Kevin and Matt. Together they make Mavin or Kett. Relentless mezmorizing drums and synths that anticipate each other. A free roaming cacophony of dense aural matter from which a storm brews and rhythms pour down, but in the end the sun shines through.

STIG NOISE SOUND SYSTEM

Very creative and smashing lads who make nice challenging music. View their myspace to see why they are 'smashing'.

BILBAO SYNDROME
Jagged rocks and perverted Mr Wimpy's going for a burton with unwieldy claymores on bracken. Death Metal Funk.

It was great to be part of your show in Edinburgh (seriously considering buying a straw cowboy hat)

Have since been dumped but what has kept me sane is knowing IAM A SCORSESE FILM IN A HAT!

Keep up the good work.

Hello! I just thought I'd drop by and leave you a comment since you post such wonderfully witty ones on Tobias Menzies' page. Well I would leave Tobias one myself but I fear that I would come across as rather fan girlish and silly so I thought it wiser to not say anything... (not until I've come up with something delightfully witty, original and impressive anyway...) In addition, I am terribly shy and knowing that he is in fact the real Tobias and will read it strikes fear into my heart. lol!
Most unfortunately, I just missed going to the Edinburgh Festival, which I lament terribly, especially since your show seems most intriguing and funny; however, I look forward to hearing you on Loose Ends next Saturday.

Hope your Edinburgh shows are going well - we monkeys have definitely benefitted from seeing your previews. Nobody will ever say the word 'beverage' on a date again.
