ROCKERILLA (June 09, interview by Massimo Marchini) - in doma dimostra il suo eclettismo e anche un insolito, esuberante talento musicale che affonda delicatamente solide radici, in un fecondo terreno formato dal suo background classico (Debora è un’eccellente pianista). in doma è un lavoro dove con piglio zappiano convivono differenti generi e mood, dal jazz al rock, al punk e oltre.
in doma demonstrates her eclectism and also an unusual, exuberant musical talent which digs delicately solid roots, in a fertile ground formed by her classic background (Debora is an excellent pianist). in doma is a work in which, with a Zappa-like attitude, different genres and moods, from jazz to rock, punk, and beyond, live together.

Si ascoltano prima certi episodi alla Pj Harvey, poi affondi che paiono cantati "senza rete" come farebbe una Patti Smith miracolosamente ingentilita e femminile, e infine certi volteggi cari alle grandi signore della canzone italiana. Ma ogni accostamento equivale a ingabbiare Petrina e la sua musica in schemi che in doma afferra, rivolta e fa a pezzi piccoli piccoli riconsegnando all'ascoltatore un luccicante impasto sonoro fatto di stili comunicanti, precipitosi cambi di direzione, colpi di coda e richiami al passato tramite suoni moderni. Her voice is a crystalline traveller of the sounds, that Björk could appreciate. First you can listen certain episodes in Pj Harvey's style. Then some lunges that seem sung "without net", as a Patti Smith, miraculously refined and feminine, could do. Finally certain voltages dear to great ladies of the italian songwriting. But each approach is equivalent to cage Petrina and her music into diagrams that in doma grasps, turns again and breaks in small small pieces, returning to the listener sparkling sound mixing of communicating styles, hasty changes of direction, masterstrokes and calls to the past through modern sounds. 3,5 on 4
IL MUCCHIO (June 09) - funambolico pastiche costruito su repentini cambi di atmosfere e (soprattutto) sulle mille sfumature di un canto tecnico e camaleontico che, intonando testi curiosi e surreali, passa dall'italiano all'inglese e allo spagnolo. Imprevedibile, giocoso e un minimo compiaciuto di sè stesso, in doma è, nel suo (non) genere, un piccolo capolavoro di estro, gusto e coraggio.
Tight rope-walking pastiche built on changes of atmospheres and (most of all) on a thousand nuances of a technical and camaleontic singing which, intoning curious and surrealistic lyrics, passes from Italian to English and to Spanish. Unpredictable, playful and a bit pleased of himself, in doma is, in his (no) genre, a little masterpiece of inspiration, taste and courage.

JAM (May 09) - c'è un'affascinante figura femminile che si aggira tra pianoforti, toy piano e organetti...La voce di Petrina si avvolge in curiose e insolite melodie ricamate abilmente con tastiera o Fender Rhodes e canta di sms anonimi, avventure in piscina, bikini rosa, asteroidi: un po' come un'eccentrica Tori Amos che incontra una divertita ed energica Cristina Donà. Ma i paragoni non sono sufficienti a descrivere la sua musica, ogni brano si declina in modo diverso e inaspettato: sta all'ascoltatore lasciarsi rapire dalle fantasticherie contenute in questo dischetto. LIVEROCK.IT (June 09) - cosa succede quando una dissennata creatività si scontra con un eclettico talento? probabilmente avviene un grande “boom!” data la mole dei due fattori o, più verosimilmente, se la strada scelta è quella musicale, nasce un disco come quello di Petrina.
What does it happen when a mad creativity meets an eclectic talent? probably a big "boom!" takes place, considering the mass of the two factors or, better, if the chosen road is the musical one, an album like Petrina's one is born.
ONDAROCK.IT (June 09) - scritto, cantato, suonato e prodotto da Petrina, sta e rimarrà come uno degli elevati risultati dell’arte del pop italico. E’, naturalmente, quello deviato ma colto, frivolo ma etico, compassato ma sconquassante. PETRINA è cantante, pianista e tastierista, autrice, compositrice e arrangiatrice.
Le sue canzoni, in italiano, inglese, ungherese e spagnolo, le valgono il Premio Ciampi 2007 (uno dei più importanti premi italiani per la canzone d’autore), che porta come motivazione ‘l’originalità e la freschezza dell’invenzione’.
Il suo essere oltre i generi le consente di muoversi fra strumenti di estrazione diversa, come il pianoforte e il Rhodes, le tastiere e i giocattoli d’epoca, dal cracklebox alle organette, ai toy piano, alle chitarrine modificate.
Elliott Sharp, che è ospite di In Doma, l’ha invitata nel 2008 a suonare allo Stone (in duo col batterista Mike Sarin), lo storico locale di John Zorn a New York.
Nel 2007 Petrina ha suonato in uno dei più importanti clubs di S.Francisco, il Café du Nord, insieme a Amy X Neuburg ed Emily Bezar.
Nella stessa occasione ha suonato al Mills College, il tempio dell’avanguardia californiana degli anni 60.
Ha suonato al Teatro Roldàn, all’Avana, invitata dall’Instituto de la Musica Cubana, e per l’occasione ha rilasciato un’intervista alla storica Radio Progreso.
Premiata e ospitata da Demo, su RaiRadio1, ha suonato negli studi di RaiRadio3, della Radio Nazionale Ungherese e nel circuito delle radio indipendenti italiane come Radio Popolare Milano, Radio Città Futura a Roma, Radio Città Del Capo a Bologna e Controradio a Firenze.
Per la televisione, “Mizar” Tg2, ha realizzato un servizio su di lei.
I luoghi dove si è esibita spaziano dal Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, in veste di pianista contemporanea, alla rassegna d'avanguardia “The Piano Hour Series” (Concentus Musicus), ai luoghi del jazz come il Carambolage e il New Conversation Festival, al palco degli artisti indipendenti del MEI.
PETRINA is a singer, pianist and keyboardist, author, composer and arranger.
Her songs, in Italian, English, Hungarian and Spanish brought her to win the Ciampi Award 2007 (one of the most important italian awards for songwriting), with this motivation: ‘the originality and the freshness of the invention’.
Her music is beyond genres, and she moves between different instruments such as the piano, the Fender Rhodes, vintage keyboards and toys (crackleboxes, organettas, toy pianos and modified little guitars).
Elliott Sharp, special guest on guitar in In Doma, invited her to perform (duo with drummer Mike Sarin) at The Stone, John Zorn's club in New York City.
In 2007 Petrina played in one of the most important clubs in S.Francisco, the Café du Nord, with Amy X Neuburg and Emily Bezar.
On the same occasion she played at Mills College, the temple of the West Coast avant-garde in the 60s.
She played at Roldán Theatre, in La Havana, invited by the Instituto de la Musica Cubana, and on that occasion she gave an interview for the historical Radio Progreso.
Concerning Italy, she went onto the stage of Mei 2008 (Indipendent Label Meeting), in the frame of Indipendulo Festival, organized by Trovarobato.
Also in 2008 she played at one of the most important italian festival for new music, the Musicus Concentus in Firenze, and in one of the most respected clubs of Northern italy, the Carambolage in Bolzano.
Besides that, in 2008 she played at La Fenice in Venice, as a contemporary pianist.
She has been awarded and hosted at Demo, a program who promotes new music on the national Italian radio, RaiRadio1, and she has been invited by Mizar, a program of the national TV news network, Tg2.
She played several times at the studios of RaiRadio3 (also part of the national italian radio), Radio Popolare, RadioCittàFutura, RadioCittàDelCapo, and the hungarian national radio.
