If you've ever met Debra Watts AKA 'Black Diamond', you’d undoubtedly agree that she is a passionate enthusiast about music and all that goes with it!!
Debra's passion for music was first realised at the tender age of 3 when she would mimic Michael Jackson and Diana Ross on the TV.
Her confident energetic performances in front of the family quickly earned her the place of house-hold entertainer.
By age 9
Debra had written her first song on the back of one of her mothers record covers and performed it to her family much to their delight!
At age 16
Debra joined a girl band which enjoyed the success of radio airplay.
Despite being lead singer, Debra quickly realised that she had a strong sense of individualism and creativity and so decided to go solo.
Debra Watts considers listening to her music seeing her thought process and so prides herself on her song writing skills...
" What I write is so important to me because it can often be a reality of my life or my friends/family lives. I try to have a message or point to each of my songs because I know how powerfully influential songs can be in peoples lives.
I don’t believe in writing music for the sake of it, it's got to be something that speaks to me on a personal level.
I Love listening to so many different types of music from all different genres from rock, hip-hop to jazz. Defying the industry code if you will, I don’t believe in categories when it comes to what I write because I believe my music is a representation of my personal style.
My personal taste in Music is very eclectic and I would say that comes through in my songs!!
Whatever the perception of my music style may be, I really am fine with the verdict as my motivation for putting pen to paper is personal and not financial and its always nice to hear what people take from your work!
I really try and stay away from the whole what musical category would you put yourself in question, I wont be put in a box".
This is a very exciting time for Debra with the release of her single 'Its raining Black' .

Adviruz is the artist pseudonym of Istanbul’s Pinar Gurcan, whose growing passion for sound is translated through her music. Since an early age, she has been listening and mimicking opera singers, writing melodies, songs and poems in which she spoke her mind and reflected her soul. All of which are evident on "Nightly Sounds", an 8 track album which is the equivilent of having a glimpse into a diary, learning of love lost, gained, a snapshot of the human condition from which we can all draw experience...
