"Debs Warren is not just a lovely lady with a peaceful and charismatic voice, Debs is a writer with an earthy outlook on life and her music reflects her personality perfectly." - Sue Marchant Presenter@BBC Eastern Regional Evening Show
"Debs has a great way of helping you renew and increase your confidence in your performance ability. The vocal tuition and coaching has been extremely valuable in helping me get the very best out of my live performances, while teaching me how to properly look after my voice. (I have had vocal coaching before, but this has by far been the best). Her positive and encouraging methods help you get the very best out of your voice. I would recommend her to anyone whether starting out or well on the road as a musician." Pete McAllen Pete’s myspace
There is no doubt that Debs is passionate about music; her discography of 5 CD releases is testament to her prolific songwriting. Her songs range from tender, haunting melodies to power pop/rock driving tunes.
Not wanting to fit in a box
has been one of her major aims, and her journey in music reflects this.
Her initial training in music was classical in nature, and
evolved into mainstream acoustic and pop during her
teenage years, when she wrote her first songs.
Debs does not shy in the face of a vocal challenge and over the years has become very comfortable singing rock, blues, funk and soul in various bands.
In 2007, following 4 CD releases, Debs proudly returned to her acoustic roots, with a new album, "Barefoot", full of moving and spellbinding songs. As a performer she is a smooth operator, with open arms for the audience as she soothes, excites, captivates, and wins them over every time.
Barefoot has made it into Stephen Foster's Top 5 Albums of 2007 in The Grapevine Magazine January 2008:
"A consisitently good singer-songwriter who decided to go back to her roots with this album. Debs is quite happy to rock out, but she's often at her heartfelt best when she unplugs and lets her songs breathe. This CD was recorded at her partner's Buzz4 Productions studio and Rich Burrow's attention to detail has helped make this Debs's most satisfying album to date"
"Barefoot" shows that she's now developed into an artist that deserves wider recognition, both as songwriter and performer. "Barefoot" is gravid with lush, multi-layered arrangements, that give the album a feel of a rich fruitcake. Hints of spice and liquer with a different combination of taste and flavours in every bite." - Neil at Fatea Records (www.fatea-records.co.uk)
