About me:

Discover How a Top Producing Real Estate Agent's Business Crashing With The Economy Actually Turned out to Be Her Ticket to Time and Financial Freedom.

Hi and Welcome!
I'm Debbie Turner,
the Author and Creator of:

www.MentoringWithHeart.com

If you're anything like me, you'd like to throw your alarm clock out and get up when you're done sleeping, get dressed in the clothes you WANT to wear and do whatever you want during the day instead of having a boss dictate it.

For years I had to “dress up” to go to work. Not only as a professional Realtor, but prior to that working in a law firm as a legal assistant. It was the same routine every morning. Alarm goes off at 6 am, shower, shave and shine to go do the whole 9-5 deal. Actually, in both professions, it was more like the 8 to 7 and longer in many cases as a Realtor and 6 or 7 days a week. And, want to know the kicker? I didn’t realize how much I didn’t want to do that until I didn’t have to do that!

Until the real estate market crashed and the economy went bad, I didn't realize I myself was a victim to the "get a job and work all your life" chains around my ankles and was just going though the motions.

I worked in professional offices for 20 years. I witnessed people working themselves to death, trying to get ahead, putting on a show, not being who they truly are, trying to impress everyone yet inside they are miserable worrying about bills from a lifestyle they can't afford.

I want to share my story in hopes that people will see they have options. People are raised to be slaves to others and so they THINK they HAVE to do the 9-5 drill. You don't HAVE TO DO THAT.

I go to bed when I'm tired & get up when I'm done sleeping.

I throw on my t-shirt shorts, grab my English breakfast tea and check my email. I answer my phone when it's convenient.

I live my days according to what I choose to do while my online systems make money for me, all thanks to my crisis
.

I'll tell you more about that in a minute, but first let me tell you a little bit about myself.

The oldest of 6 kids, I grew up in Palmdale, CA.   My childhood is filled with memories of riding my bike until dark, playing hide and seek for hours, playing jacks, jump rope, hop scotch, tetherball and Hoola Hoop. I enjoyed dressing up, lemonade stands and being a Girl Scouts. I grew up on Kool-Aid, Scooby Doo and Oreo cookies.

In Junior High I ran track and Mom told me it wasn’t nice to beat the boys. I continued to beat them anyway.

In high school I was in all the choir classes and made state. I wasn't allowed to participate in extracurricular activities because of transportation so I pretty much choir was it for school other than my church youth group.

I lead a pretty sheltered life growing up and travel, fine dining, and adventurous activities were things I knew nothing about.  Dad didn't like traveling and going places so we didn't. We did, however, go camping which is where I get my love for it today. Camping back then meant tossing a sleeping bag on the ground and waking up to the smells of breakfast over a wood fire.

My Mom was always very present in my life. Going back to my earliest years, I remember her being home. It was your typical "Leave it to Beaver" Home. Dinner was on the table every night, the home was kept clean, Mom participated in all my school activities as the Room Mother (remember those?) She was the Scout Leader and Job's Daughter leader. I remember loving that.

Growing up, there was NEVER a conversation about me going to college or having a career.  I was brought up in old school thinking where I was going to grow up to be a homemaker. Mom taught me to cook, keep house, sew, and take care of children. [It's a wonderful privilege for Moms today to be able to do that, but, it did not prepare me to be able to earn a living should I need to.]

When I graduated from high school in 1977, my folks bought a farm in Kentucky and moved across the United States. I stayed behind. But, my plans hadn't gone exactly according to plan and I had no husband in the wings like I thought I would by this time, and Boy Oh Boy . . . did I need a job!

I married a few years later started a family. I started a home daycare business so I could be home with my children. After several years and being around babies all day, I was loosing myself and my identity. I needed to have adult conversations. When the kids were all in school, I set out for a change in career.

I went to school and became a legal secretary. I worked in that profession for several years in Las Vegas, NV. It was during this time, however, being around the more affluent, I learned that people took vacations (that wasn't something I grew up with - we went camping). I discovered that people went out to eat and did the whole fine dining thing and even stuff like scuba diving.

..I learned there was a world out there of places to go and things to do. Boy did I ever lead a sheltered life!

I wanted to do what these people were doing and enjoy life like they were! I was at the top of my pay scale at the time so I knew that this would be a dead end if I wanted more income and time freedom. I gave long thought to what I could do to earn 6-figures + per year without going to college and have more flexibility in my life.

During this time, we adopted a baby girl so flexibility was also important to me in choosing a career. I wasn't going to miss out on her "firsts" and toddler years.

I chose real estate and enjoyed a very successful career until the spring of 2006 when the market crashed. I went from 6 figures to low 5 figures and was quickly sliding down the debt hole like quick sand. I was definitely in crisis and over my head in "what am I going to do?"

I knew I could never punch a clock and my lifestyle and monthly debt load was not conducive to a 9-5 paycheck. I had to look for something entrepreneurial.

So, how did I turn my real estate crisis into a blessing? Well, actually, I had to endure ONE MORE CRISIS BEFORE the full blessing came. It was my "testing" period to see if I was serious about success".

When I realized I needed to find another source of income to replace that of my real estate career, I set out to see what I could find. I thought I had found the solution to my problem only to find out that I was actually jumping from the frying pan into the fire!

See, I came across a home based business that I believed at the time was the answer to my income replacement. However, as it turned out, I had been "suckered". I had been totally gullible, bought into one of those automated systems, pie in the sky deals and basically just made a really bad decision. That would prove to cost me $35K and 8 month's worth of my time! The lessons learned were invaluable.

I had chosen the wrong product (there actually wasn't one worth a hoot), wrong company (no company, CEO, president, brick and mortar office), and wrong mentor (who taught old school marketing of buying $10.50 leads and calling people.) And, because I was coachable, I did it. In the end, I made ZERO dollars and further, discovered as I tried to use the product that there was no substance to it (salt in the wound). Ultimately, my choices sent me backwards and deeper in debt.

So here I was with a crashed real estate market, a costly failed home business and a bucket load of debt.  I had 3 choices and one was not cashing in a lottery ticket.

1. Go get a 9-5 job (nope)
2. Go back into real estate (nah, there's NO market)
3. Find another opportunity, make a better decision and learn from past failures (there ya go).

I saw in my mind what I wanted to do, I knew who I was and where I was heading. My desire and commitment to myself to succeed was huge. I began to attract answers.

I registered for online classes and seminars on how to do internet marketing. I bought every ebook, report, cd I could find. I knew that marketing a business online was different from anything I’d done in real estate and I knew I needed an education.

I sought out mentors who taught me about attraction marketing and using my story, video and pictures.  I've learned that making money online is really about building relationships.  I realized that I needed others around me with the same mindset who are willing to mentor, brainstorm, and share success principles.

I was now ready to embark on my new journey. I made good choices the second time around and I continued to attract success into my life. My first week in my new business, I was creating income.

As I continued to use the laws of attraction and intention, staying focused on my goals, hanging out with the right people, implementing as I learned new strategies and continue to build on what I have,  as well as immersion in personal development, my business began to grow. What a difference from my first experience!

Today, I'm an established entrepreneur with multiple streams of income and that's where at the beginning of my story, I share that I go to bed when I'm tired, get up and done sleeping and spend my day how I choose, while creating wealth.

For me it's a joy to empower others to achieve their greatness and find their strength to move mountains. I embrace leadership as it allows me to be a servant and I'm grateful for the opportunity to make a difference to others to are genuinely ready to step out of that comfort zone.

Had the real estate market not crashed, had I not failed miserably for over a year in a home based business, I would not be who I am today or have the power to control my life and financial freedom as I have today.  There's my blessing.  .

Other things I've been passionate about have been serving as foster parents over a 15 year period and look back often on the joys and blessing that each child brought into our lives.

I love my Christian faith and Jesus Christ. He is my savior, my friend, my business partner and CEO of my life.

As a family, our favorite place to go is the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, a few hours away from there. We love roasting marshmallows, getting dirty, making trail mix, tubing down rivers, cooking chili over a fire and sleeping in tents.

Other activities I enjoy are scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and travel. It doesn't matter where I go really. I just love having something on the calendar to look forward to.

My Kids Are Best Friends
and I love that!

Photobucket

Occassionally, my daughter Ashley and I will pile pillows on the bed, watch “I Love Lucy” re-runs and eat a variety of junk food. Way fun!

A favorite game we all enjoy playing is Cashflow 101 and before we play, we speculate who will get stuck with the boat! It’s total drama when the card is chosen, very funny!

My hobby and passion is scrapbooking. To me, there’s nothing more precious I can leave behind than the preservation of family photos, stories and memorabilia.

I’ve authored a book and hands-on training for foster parents and social workers on how to make scrapbooks for children in care. I’m also a published scrapbook designer and I’m often at conventions, stores and retreats teaching classes.

When the boys were growing up, I was the "on the go taxi Mom" Little League, soccer, Scout leader, room mother, collector of baseball cards, attended baseball card shows you know the drill. When Ashley came along, I did it all over again, but it was things like dance and karate.

I am not a materialistic person, but rather live a simple, humble life that I enjoy very much. I believe in the principles taught in "The Millionaire Next Door". I enjoy hanging out in jeans, t-shirts and sandals, I drive a paid for mini-van and I love a good homemade BBQ on paper plates. That's not to say I don't enjoy luxury. I do and I indulge sometimes, but it's not a way of life for me. To me, financial freedom is knowing that my parents and family are provided for and to give to great causes that impact the lives of others. Different strokes for different folks. Money doesn't buy happiness but giving to others does.

My business partners and I have fun together. We meet up every 3 months and do fun stuff together. Things like horseback riding, bicycling, golfing, hot air ballooning, bicycling across the Golden Gate Bridge and enjoying a Sonoma Wine Tour by limobus.  Good fun with like minded friends.

Life is so much more meaningful when you can be your authentic self and have fun.  People get way too caught up in trying to be something they are not rather than just being who they are. None of us are perfect and before we can love and accept others, we need to love and accept ourselves. Business is so much more fun when you are part of a team and everyone supports each other.

Creating success is really about just making a decision, believing that you can do it and then implement. I had no doubt that I would find success. I've always accomplished that which I set my mind to. I believed success was mine as sure as I was breathing, even while I was pulling my hair out, frustrated and even scared at times. The deepest part of me KNEW I had the power within me to succeed. I could not be stopped by anyone. I became unmeltable.

You, my friend, have the same ability to be unstoppable if your desire is strong enough. It's all in the mind.

The question is…what are you going to do about it? Do you continue on living life in the “same ole, same ole” grind even if you’re not satisfied and you know you deserve better?

Or do you step out of your comfort zone, believe in yourself at any cost, and put in any amount of work it takes to get where you need to be? And yes, success comes at a cost, there will be some long days and a bunch of learning curves, as with anything else that's new to you.

That’s a question that only gets answered from within YOU my friend. And ultimately what you really want, and how bad you want it, will dictate which path you take. All I can say is ANY amount of happiness, satisfaction, peace, love, and wealth you want is YOURS for the taking when you REALLY, REALLY dedicate your entire being to it.

Every individual is amazingly unique and holds great power within themselves to do, to be, to have, whatever they desire in life.

It's unleashing that power that brings those things into our lives that we desire.

If you recognize you deserve so much more than what the 9-5 rat race life is dishing out and you truly are seeking the road map to online success, I would enjoy meeting you and having a relaxed conversation. Let me know how I can serve you.

Who I'd like to meet:

For fun, I think it would be a hoot to have a "girls' day out" with Paula Dean & Rachael Ray and meet up with Bobby Flay for one of his BBQs.

Who Am I Looking To Meet?

Please don't get me wrong when I say this as I love people. We are called to love one another. But...ALL those people aren't exactly the TYPE of people I want to meet. Let me put it like this...

My attitude accepts absolutely
nothing less than total abundance.

I feel abundance in my life. I attract abundance into my life. I resonate with abundant concepts, mentalities, and attitudes, and I flee from negative people.

I DO NOT want to interact with:

1. People with self defeating attitudes who don't believe they have the power to create whatever reality they want.

2. People who bring other people down, and leech energy from others just because they know they can get it. (My caring way of being makes me a huge target for people to take total advantage of...I have to watch out!)

3. Anyone who is not accepting of others and are judgmental, gossips, and mean spirited.

Basically, if you're a person who:

**Complains about anything
**Is Negative
**Is Skeptical
**Is Flat Broke and Broke Minded
**Is Holding on to past failures
**Thinks I'll build their business for them
**Won't take responsibility for their success
**Will quit before they find success

PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME.

I can’t help you.

If this describes you, honestly, a job is probably the best place for you where you can offer your gifts and talents to others in the work place. That’s cool, that’s what you’re called to do and there's nothing wrong with a strong work ethic in a reputable place of employment.

Now I don't have a problem with anyone even if they are "negative" or anything like that...I'm just at a point in my life where I choose to surround myself with positive, energetic, out of the box thinkers.

When you want to GROW fast and large...you have to make a tough call. You have to cut yourself off from anyone who isn't growing and is holding you back. I've had to do a lot of it in the past years, and to tell you the truth...I am GLAD I did!

WHO I AM seeking to align myself with now

Affluent, Educated, Smart, Savvy Entrepreneurs who are not afraid of hard work, business ethics and creative marketing.

I love working with movers and shakers, action takers, those who can problem solve and make quick decisions with "no fear, just do it" attitudes.

1. People who think BIG. But more importantly...People who BELIEVE big.

2. People with the right attitude, emotional stability, and who are passionate about what they are doing and where they are going in life.

3. Leaders, Network marketers, Internet Marketers, and others who are already successful entrepreneurs or knows they have what it takes, they just need some better tools, resources, marketing and mentoring.

4. If you're a Realtor or mortgage broker, or anything relating to real estate, we have that in common and I totally understand what it's like to try and stay in this real estate market right now. It would be nice to meet you.

5. If you're in the corporate world, or a burned out attorney or physician, those in a direct sales position and you're accustomed to a healthy 6 figure income but have the desire to roll up your sleeves and take on a whole new set of skillsets and adventure online, give me a call.

If you want to connect, send me a message. I look forward to meeting you and learning about what you want to accomplish.

I like what Dani Johnson says in her short interview here. I've been to Dani's seminars and she tells it like it is. Dani's made millions by treating her business like a business and doing what it takes. Listen to what she has to say.
