Not many bands can make a complete turn around in a year. Decadation is one of the few that can. Collapsing into the Kilkenny music scene in 2006 with their god-awful performance at that years battle of the bands (which included getting local drum connoisseur and music shop owner Frank Salmon to pick up the sticks for them on the day) Decadation was seen as a doomed band that were spiralling around the plughole of failure.
But Luckily Daire Nolan, a ginger god turned on the faucets of success and Decadation's bath tub quickly overflowed. The Johnswell man himself became the new drummer for Decadation and provided an Earth shattering Solid base for the boyo's to build off (And the attic of a garage to practise in). Over the Next year Decadation expanded at an Exponential rate and surpassed NASDAQ in the stock-market. Influenced from the greats such as: Metallica, Megadeth, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Trivium and Pantera they Wrote kickass anthems and soaring melodies they soon got a nice auld line up of original songs along with the fan favourite covers to fill in the gaps.
Over that year Decadation formed it's 105th infantry regiment A.K.A. the Deca-Nation. Yes the Deca-nation was comprised of Many, Many loyal fans who'd mosh long into the night for the breakdowns and Chugga chugga bits. Soon the anniversary of Decadation's defeat upon the battle-stage of the Zoo Club in Kilkenny loomed up ahead. They got serious. Ultra-Serious. Rehearsing like mad eejits they entered the 07' Battle of the Bands eagar to claim the top prize. They Blasted through the first stage and got into the finals, Playing 5 originals on the day and being described as being "Fucking Fantastic" and the "Biggest turn around of any band I've seen"
Alas they didn't win the top prize but won 2nd place! only thwarted by the evil Atrax mantis. Ah no, they're sounds lads fairplay to ye. Scooping up the BAND'S BAND prize and BEST SONG prize as voted by judges they were quite content. The BEST SONG prize meant the Band could record the Crushing song "RETRIBUTION" and a B-side "ONSLAUGHT".
Released as a single and still availible to buy Retribution was a good first record for Decadation, But they needed more. Calling in Hotshot Metal Producer James Doolan of 6 feet or above ground fame; Decadation started the recording process for their new 4 track ep/demo which will be released in July followed by a headling tour in wherever in Ireland that can handle us.
