   About DECAHEDRON

Decahedron formed from the ashes of Frodus and Fugazi in early 2002. Shelby Cinca, Jason Hamacher, and Joe Lally wrote and recorded one ep and a full length together. Below is the details of the bands history.

January 2002

Shelby Cinca and Jason Hamacher reunite after the demise of Frodus and ask Fugazis Joe Lally to play bass.

February 2002

Hamacher leaves for a three month excursion to Europe and Turkey. At the time of departure the trio had practiced twice and Jason had recorded drum tracks for three songs. No definitive future plans.

March 2002

Cinca and Lally continue to write music and add instrumentation/vocals to Hamachers drums tracks. The finished songs were emailed to Hamacher just before he set out to explore Turkeys eastern Kurdish region. Cinca and Lally decided the music was more than a project and decided to form a band. Hamacher received the news via email while crossing the Syrian plain. Inspired by the region he suggested naming the group The Black Sea and the band was official.

July 2002

The Black Sea recorded three songs for future release.

November 2002

Self titled ep released on Lovitt Records.

December 2002 Feb 2003

Cinca returns to the Romanian homeland for family business while Lally journeyed to Italy with extended family. Upon their return, Cinca set up a recording studio in the house he shared with Hamacher and began recording band practices. Material was coming fast so the three began working towards a full length.

March 2003 September 2003

The Black Sea wrote and recorded the majority of the full length album DISCONNECTION_IMMINENT. The Black Sea receive an email stating the bands' name was taken and had to change or legal action would be taken.

October 2003

Lally moves out west and the band name changes to Decahedron.

December 2003

Johnathon Ford joins Decahedron and film a video for No Carrier featured on the influential website .."_blank">Sputnik7.com, Remote on DVD ..4 (20,000) .."blank">www.remoteondvd.com, and Buddyhead DVD (10,000).

January Feb 2004

Decahedron hits the road for three weeks with Engine Down, Statistics, and Moments in Grace.

March 2004

Dillinger Escape Plan invite Decahedron to play their South by Southwest showcase. The band puts together a long week tour to Texas and back playing w/ Dillinger Escape Plan, Murder by Death and International Noise Conspiracy.

April May 2004

The full length recording of DISCONNECTION_IMMINENT is released on Lovitt records. Decahedron set out for their first full US tour. Ten days into the tour Decahedron are added to Plea For Peace Tour and join up with Cursive, Darkest Hour, and Mike Park.

July 2004

Decahedron hit the road for three weeks with Dillinger Escape Plan, The Bronx, and Planes Mistaken for Stars.

August 2004

Johnathon Ford quits and all action is on hold.

December 2004

Jake Brown from Moments in Grace agrees to write new ep with Decahedron.

Feb 2005

Jake Brown, Shelby Cinca, and Jason Hamacher spend 3 days at Inner Ear studios in Arlington, VA and record six songs for 2005 ep on Lovitt records.

June 2005

Decahedron indefinitely suspends all operations...

January 2007

Internal transmissions.

January 2008

Silence... No Carrier.
