Sounds Like
Initially a (somewhat) dark ambient solo-project by the band's keyboardist/vocalist, 'Decembered' reaches to expand its field of activities, experimenting both in ambient/dark ambient/industrial area and in neoclassic and new age spheres as well. Albeit the first album never had any voices, after two more persons joined the project, occasional (and not-so-occasional) vocals became somewhat a necessary feature of Decembered's soundscapes. Our second album has only one track with clear, non-sampled vocals, and the third, an 'occasional' one appears to be purely instrumental, just like the first one.
As of today the project is involved in a joint effort with a doom-death metal band 'The Morningside' (see blog), but the future of the project is unclear.

THE THAW
(First Album)
(2005)
The rippled mirrors of the water melt
Reflect the omnipresent city drone
The southern wind has spread it like a sheet
Above the whole earth; it reaches every creft,
And every corner, where besotted birds
Exclaim the sudden spring to come with all its splendour.
But still it is December...
The cramped down backyards where we used to play
Before our thoughts had grounded forever...
The air cannot contain more odour of the melting earth
And fuming moisture, and it's overwhelming
The guardian of sanity - insanely vigilant, -
Preserving spirit from the avalanche of senseless joy,
Still he reminds that it is just a thaw...
The distant clouds make the Heaven looking high,
And yet still inculcate the souls with hope
The hope for better times, and calm, and warmth...
But ragged are these dreams, and ragged are the winter clouds,
And futile are their tries to force the sun from skydome...
It goes down early anyway, for that's the law:
It is December now, it is just a thaw.
The lucid dreaming was too sweet to wake,
But worthless, like the words of disenchantment always were,
And though I dreamt my winter found its end,
I guess it'd just begun, and spring will make me wait -
No reason to complaint, and to surprise
The truth's at hand, with all its sores:
It's my December now, and - that was just a thaw...

Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
