Reviews:
"A Decompression show is an experience in itself. They deliver their songs with intensity and feeling, while destroying the stage with their antics and determination to blow the crowd away. They even offer a money back guarantee at all of their shows. No one has ever even thought of collecting.” Shane Liddick – San Diego Reader

"Decompression turned it up a notch with some nice Metal. Grant Walkers relentless vocals had everyone on their feet. The music ranged form bass driven, steady Rock and roll to punishing riffs and tortured, screaming vocals. Each Guitar solo was met by screaming fans unging them on and begging for more."Anne Hiles - North County Times

Sounds Like
The band has taken the sound-chassis of bands like AIC, Tool, Deftones, Metallica, Soundgarden and countless others, put balls under the hood and gave it more sophisticated engineering. A hard but steady drum beat paralleled by a determined, sometimes punishing bass line—solid hard ass rock/metal—fraught with balanced guitar riffs and the Walker vocal array that ranges from a deep, hard bass on the low end to an elevated scream on the upper. With hints of Cornell and Vedder in his voice, he draws it all from some deep, tortured place within.
Decompression is quickly becoming known as a southern california rock/metal act that really fucks shit up live. They have played with national acts such as Powerman 5000, Jimmies Chicken Shack and SD local heroes Mower at some of San Diego and L.A.'s best clubs like Canes, The Whisky and Soma to name a few.
In March of '04 the band recorded their debut 5 song EP in their own home studio with Emmy winning producer/engineer Jerome Maffeo (Fidel, Jimmies Chicken Chack) and since its release they have been bombarded with positive feedback.
In April 2006 the band released their first full length album produced by Grant Walker and Grammy award winning producer Chris Weal who has done live recording for such acts as Janes Addiction, Foo Fighters and Audio Slave to name a few. Mixed by Marc Jordan at Category 5 productions in LA, the album is just a sweet taste of what these boys are capable of. From raw, modern, riffage rock/metal to dark beautiful ballads they bring it from some deep , tortured place within.
