She's been singing and writing songs for over 20 years. Folks say that her lyrics move them beyond words. She says, she only writes what she feels. She's a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a wife, but most of all she's just real. Those who hear her will tell you, her music will touch the depths of your soul.
Before the “Wall” came down DeeDee traveled to the USSR on a peace ambassadorship. She traveled with a youth led organization, which has been recognized by the U.N. as such. The purpose was not to change them, but to develop friendship and understanding.
While in transit from Kiev to Moscow, a young Ukrainian boy, and a young American girl in the group became friends. As they said their goodbyes, tears began to stream down the girls cheeks. With no spoken words, the boy wiped the tears from her face, and placed them over his heart. At that moment, DeeDee knew she could make a difference. And, so it has become her passion.
Her songs speak of peace, personal responsibility, social justice, body image, love, and so much more. But, please.....let her music speak for it's self.

A Christmas Prayer Not gold, nor myrrh, nor even frankincense would I have for you this season, but simple gifts, the ones that are hardest to find, the ones that are perfect, even for those who have everything (if such there be).
I would (if I could) have for you the gift of courage, the strength to face the gauntlets only you can name, and the firmness in your heart to know that you (yes, you!) can be a bearer of the quiet dignity that is the human glorified.
I would (if by my intention I could make it happen) have for you the gift of connection, the sense of standing on the hinge of time, touching past and future standing with certainty that you (yes, you!) are the point where it all comes together.
I would (if wishing could make it so) have for you the gift of community, a nucleus of love and challenge, to convince you in your soul that you (yes, you!) are a source of light in a world too long believing in the dark.
Not gold, nor myrrh, nor even frankincense, would I have for you this season, but simple gifts, the ones that are hardest to find, the ones that are perfect, even for those who have everything (if such there be).
How holy are you who have the power to bring peace to every mind! How blessed are you who can learn to recognize the means for letting this be done through you! What purpose could you have that would bring you greater happiness?
You are indeed the light of the world with such a function. The Son of God looks to you for his redemption. It is yours to give him, for it belongs to you. Accept no trivial purpose or meaningless desire in its place, or you will forget your function and leave the Son of God in hell. This is no idle request that is being asked of you. You are being asked to accept salvation that it may be yours to give.
Recognizing the importance of this function, we will be happy to remember it very often today. We will begin the day by acknowledging it, and close the day with the thought of it in our awareness. And throughout the day we will repeat this as often as we can:

"Be still and KNOW..." KNOW that every need I will provide; KNOW that I will never leave your side. KNOW that your times are in My hands, As in your life I work to fulfill My plans.
"Be still and know that I AM..." I AM He who sees your every tear; I AM He who calms your deepest fear. I AM He who gives peace within life's storms, While those tempests I use to strengthen and form.
"Be still and know that I am GOD..." GOD, who sent My only Son; GOD Almighty, Omniscient One. GOD, who loved you enough to die, So trust Me, my child; stop asking why.
