Cetremia Dionne Wells, the singer and songwriter, was born on December 15, 1972 in Rochester, New York. DeeDee was raised by both parents, Frederick Reed and Mary Kennedy. DeeDee is the youngest of of 4 children. DeeDee Wells starting singing at a young age in the church she grew up in, Little Lighthouse Church in Rochester, New York. The founder is the former Pastor James and Loumanda Reed, Dee Dee Wells' grandparents. Currently the pastor is Evangelist Earlene Palmer. In DeeDee's youth and teenage years she was inspired by her grandparents. In high school, DeeDee joined a Statewide Choir called Gospel Unique in Rochester, New York. The R&B singer Tweet was also a member of Gospel Unique along with Dee Dee at that time. After participating on this choir for several years, DeeDee then graduated from high school in the year of 1991.
After graduation, she relocated to Florence S.C. where she met her husband Leavy Wells Sr. They presently have three boys. Mrs. Wells is now a member of Bethel Apostolic Church in Florence, S.C., where the founder is the former Bishop UI McCall. The current pastor is Bishop Harry Williams. Dee Dee is an active member of her home church. She sings on the church choir, for funerals, weddings, and other momentous occasions. Dee Dee was the Youth Choir President at Bethel Apostolic Church for two years, and served as the President faithfully. DeeDee was a member of the S & E Choir in Florence S.C. and also was a member of a group called Gospel Explosion in Rochester, N.Y.
DeeDee was inspired by a friend of the family named Ms.Cora Trotter who heard her sing a solo in the year of 2004. Ms. Trotter advised her to start recording music at that time. Ms. Trotter then introduced DeeDee to Kelvin Smith who owns Smith Brothers Records in Florence, S.C. Immediately, DeeDee started writing songs and within a six-month period Dee Dee wrote 19 songs and recorded 9 songs on her first CD. DeeDee made her first appearance at Bethel Apostolic Church in July 2005, and was honored for her appearance at that time. DeeDee also performed at The Luther Barnes 9th Annual Fall Gospel Classic, along with Dorothy Norwood, The William Brothers, Slim and the Supreme Angels, and many other gospel artists. DeeDee also appeared in Rochester, NY and gave songs of praise along with Luther Barnes and The William Sister on April 21st and 22nd 2006.DeeDee also appeared on 10/5/2006 at the 10th Annual Classic at the Red Bud Holy Church, with Luther Barnes, Dorothy Norwood and so many other artists. DeeDee's first CD entitled "GET TO KNOW HIM,"was released in October 2005. DeeDee received a certificate in April of 2005 stating that she is one of the top 1500 worldwide capable of writing a hit song, this was presented by the WORLD BILLBOARD SONGWRITING CONTEST. DeeDee now has a new single released and produced by Kris Davis of Imperial Productions entitled, "CAN I TESTIFY," DeeDee's second project entitled "HE CAN SAVE YOU," was released on 12/8/06.
