D is a 2008 New Mexico Music Award Nominee
Vocalist/Bassist for the band Élu
Born and raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, D's earliest memories reveal her love for music. During her teenage years she started singing in choirs and local bands. In 2001 she became lead vocalist in a local Hip-Hop group and soon thereafter she became the lead vocalist for a local Alternative-Rock band. During the next few years she would perform throughout the western states and as far as Johannesburg, South Africa.
In 2006, D joined Jeff Mettlings' creation,
Elu, as vocalist and bassist. She has co-written some of the songs on their
Beautiful Things album and they recently received recognition on
BILLBOARD for their song
Lose Control.Aside from being a part of Elu, D has recorded some of her original songs. Currently, D is in the process of recording a dance album which is expected to be released in 2009.
ELU -- Recently, Elu signed a non-exclusive licensing deal for all releases to be included in a movie and media licensing library available to major movie producers and advertising agencies world wide. Elu releases have reached the top 40 on the internets top music sites. See the video's for Sweet Possession and Wicked Lullaby to the left.
D is also working the sets of various films in and around Albuquerque so keep an eye out for her on the big screen!
