Mike Society (formally known as Colossus) is one of the regions best up and coming gay Promoters/DJ's and has a big following in Lincolnshire through his popular "Society" nights. Starting out under the name "Colossus" aged 19, he set up his own night in Manchester's gay village, Spectrum Sessions @ Legends played MMU’s LGBT night and One Central St in the city. After a summer season in Alquida (Mallorca) in a salubrious rave pub, Mike came back to his hometown and has played most venues, including Ultrasonic @ The Pier, FunkQ @ Musika, Walkabout to name but a few...and of course his own Electro night Electrique
In 2007 he decided to concentrate his promotion soley on the scene and Society @ SubZero was born. Booking foam parties, club freaks, fireshows, Mike’s enthusiasm really rubs off on his events and Society never fails to entertain! It has put Lincolnshire well and truely on the gay map and been splashed across the local press and was even reviewed in Gay Times. In March whilst on holiday, Mike bagged a guest set at infamous gay afterhours “Man Factory” in Playa Del Ingles, Gran Canaria. – Playing such a respected venue was a real honour! This summer the reputation of Society has spread - it has successfully launched in a 2nd location in Lincoln @ Essence, organized the town’s first gay pride float, Mike played to 2,000 people at Hull Pride and the launch of BANK's new store in the Bullring Shopping Centre, Birmingham.
Mikes skill in whiping up a dancefloor and enthusiasm for throwing a great party mean he is in demand. 2009 will see Mike increasingly concentrate his promotion on the big city centre scenes – If the journey so far is anything to go, we are in for a fantastic year.
