DJ Infa-Red was born and raised in Boston, Mass. It is there where he was first introduced to the world of hip-hop at the tender age of 5. Infa-Red recalls that it was the insightful, positive, and infectious lyrics, messages, and beats of the mid 1980’s hip-hop music that first caught his attention.
His growth in the hip hop culture was not limited to his Boston upbringing. Infa-Red made regular visits and spent summer vacations in New York City with family. It was in New York City that Infa-Red experienced and witnessed hip-hop culture in its purest form, and at the age of 15 he was introduced to the world of DJ'ing when a friend gave him a mixer. It was love at first spin. He didn't know it at the time, but this gift would seal his fate and spark his new passion.
Soon after returning to Boston, Infa-Red saved money and bought two turntables. He started practicing with two childhood friends, DJ Mastamind (R.I.P) and DJ Backspin. As their crafts were being honed, they began to host house parties to showcase their talents.
After graduating from high school, Infa-Red moved to Orlando, Florida to find better opportunities that were lacking in his Boston community. DJ'ing was put on the back burner as he attended college and worked various jobs to make ends meet. Fate stepped in again when Infa-Red was introduced to Point Blanc, a local turntablist. Point Blanc introduced Infa-Red to a whole new world of DJing that he had never known before. Their common passion in music would spark a long lasting friendship. They practiced together and began working professionally as DJ's together. Eventually, DJ Wal-Gee joined the two up-and-coming DJ’s and the three formed PrimeTime DJ's. Primetime DJ's has since become one of Orlando's most respected DJ crews.
Infa-Red has DJ'd for various celebrities, such as Fat Joe, Allen Iverson, Jameer Nelson of the Orlando Magic, and many others. He was also Jermaine Dupri's honorary guest at the BET Awards. DJ Infa-Red is a member of the elite Orlando DJ circuit. He
has released countless mixtapes, produces beats, and is a fixture in the Orlando party scene where he continues to strive to perfect his craft.
