Matteo Scapin, in arte Matthew $, nasce a thiene il 4 febbraio 1989.
Spinto dal padre Luigi, Matthew $ viene a stretto contatto con la musica House e Tecno.
Partendo da un lettore cd arriva alla console ed, in seguito, anche il vinile.
Comincia la sua attività musicale suonando nei locali della zona di Vicenza
collezionando sia successi che delusioni.
2007: la svolta.
Un fenomeno sta prendendo piede anche in Italia mietendo un sacco di vittime, tra cui Matthew $; il dj rimane affascinato dalle atmosfere rese dal MINIMAL.
In poco tempo apprende tutto ciò che riguarda la musica "minimalista", producendo "improvvisazione".
Ormai sembra che Matthew $ abbia trovato la sua massima ispirazione.
No, non è contento.
Il dj vuole infondere una "carica diversa" ai suoi pezzi: più atmosfera.
La sua ricerca si basa su di un tipo di sonorità che sia calma ma, allo stesso tempo, che mantenga alta la tensione.
Le persone che lo ascoltano devono essere tutt'uno con Matthew $; è il dj che deve dare loro il ritmo del battito del cuore.
Ha deciso: quello che gli mancava era l'AMBIENT.
Riuscendo a fondere il minimal con quest'ultimo, Matthew $ è tornato all'attacco.
Ed è molto determinato.
