While being a lover of many genres of music, Rav-E is naturally drawn towards Bhangra, the the folk music of his motherland Punjab. He possess the ability to mix Hip-Hop, R&B, and House music on the fly, but cannot deny his deep infatuation with the rich dhol driven beats and tumbi infused melodies of Punjabs folk music Bhangra. Along with mixing it up on the decks, Rav-E also is an exceptional talent on the dhol having learned under the wing of world renowned dhol master Ustad Lal Singh Bhatti. In his young career Rav-E has opened for artists such as Ziggy Marley and Michael Franti with the Non Stop Bhangra Collective live set and has also had the opportunity to share the stage with some of the biggest names in the Bhangra industry such as RDB, Bikram Singh, Dr. Zeus, Bobby Friction, and Juggy D. This driven artist is sticking close to his roots and is striving to further facilitate Bhangra’s transcendence across musical and cultural barriers. 2009 was a very sad year for all Bhangra lovers. Kaka Bhainiawala, a strong voice of the Punjabi music industry, completed his journey and moved to a better place. His voice will be missed by millions of his fans. In his loving memory, Singer G-Deep aka Gagna of USA wrote a tribute track to remember his music and his work. Kaka Bhainiawalas music has inspired G-Deep to make music. G-Deep wrote this song the same day he heard about the demise of KAKA. "I just wrote the lyrics and what my heart was feeling, but this is the voice of every heart who loves Bhangra music and Kaka Bhainiawala", says G-Deep. Music was produced and arranged by DJ Harry from NY. Immediately after DJ Harry heard the lyrics and the composition, he got busy in the studio to make this possible. DJ Harry quoted "Kaka's songs are in the heart of every DJ and I am blessed to work on something like Sach Kakaiya." The song and video for Sach Kakaiya, was released on July 15 on various websites. So put youre glassy up for Sach Kakaiya and R.I.P. Kaka Bhainiawala.
