Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in College Park, GA (The Greater Atlanta Area). When I was a kid during the 70's, it seem like every relative had 2 turntables, mixer, 8 track player, and Reel to Reel in their crib. Playing good music from Blues to Soul. My cousin from Queens introduced me to Hip Hop in the summer of 1979. On a mix tape, his brother kicked rhymes over the song 'Good Times' by Chic. This was a few months before 'Rapper's Delight' came out. 'The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel' was released in 1981. This record inspired me to become a DJ. I practiced on Pop's belt drive Dual turntables. Mixing early Go-Go records like Slim - 'In the Mix' and Trouble Funk 'Drop the Bomb'. 1988, I got my Wheels of Steel and the rest is history.
Sir Samir! Hey man I was thinking about you too, coincdence! I know and remember Don very well, my oldest brother use to go hard on the locking back in the day. I even picked it up a little as a kid. Man, thats a blessing bro, I wish I was there! He and The Lockers contributed so much to Dance culture, its immeasurable. Don deserves every single accolade and award under the sun, He and The Lockers paid their dues major. They didnt just "get on" they put themselves on.
Toni Basil was killing it maaaajor!

Yo Samir, what's the deal my dude?! It's definitely been a MINUTE. Hope everything's good with you. I'm not sure if you heard about this show, but this is definitely gonna be a dope show that's worth checking out:
I'm gonna be rocking new joints, I'll have M-Tri as my DJ for my set, I'll be freestyling, etc. I'm really going in on this show!
Thanks for the love my brother!!! I do still plan on the name change because I feel I have matured as a dj and as a person. My family name I'm very proud of and want to see it in everything I do from here on.
Peace, Love and House Music!!!!
