Deep Z - The Progressive Resistance ! in your extended network
Hi, friends ;) this show my guest will be MoShic from Israel, The greatest deep / dark progressive DJ / Producer in the world ! Here is some info about him:
*Pete Tong: The best Israeli thing since the falafel *DJ Mag 2005 Top world DJs Rank at 95 (keep going up!) *DJ Mag 2004 Top world DJ's Rank at 108 *2 MTV Israel Awards for The best Release and best producer of 2002
Northern Israel, Haifa (1977), Moshic Shlomi is born. A man, whose name thrills millions of progressive House fans today. He grew up in a family of musicians, but not everything in his life inclined cheerful singing.
At the age of 18, he was enlisted to National Service, where as a medic, he had to deal with death everyday. Soldiers brought from Lebanon were dying right in front of his eyes. Continuous suicide attacks and living on a time bomb made Moshic understand, what the most important thing in life is; to seize the day.
When he finished paying his debts to the country, he decided to devote himself completely to electronic music. He fell in love with progressive, which wasn’t too popular at that time in Israel. He was handing out his mixes wherever he could, but the scene ignored his "too dark" style. Disillusioned, he moved to New York - the city where John Digweed and Sasha were spinning records in Twilo, and Moshic’s progressive darkness finally found a susceptible breeding ground.
Moshic released his first singles under the Argonout guise. Argonout (Aka Moshic) is Moshic’s first project and got releases threw Cyber records (NL).
Got Supported by the best world dj’s and featured in the best compilations such as:
Tiesto (in search of sunrise3), Armin van Buren, Global-Underground "after-hours", Gatecrasher (discotech), -Bedrock-Jimmy Van M, Kasey Taylor (Balance), Nubreed 5 mixed by Lee Burridge, Danny Howells Nocturnal Frequencies 3 …ETC
Moshic started to conquer the dance scene worldwide. However the true fame and publicity came with the "Nightstalker" production.
"Nightstalker" was included in Danny Howells’s "Nocturnal Frequencies 3" and Jimmie Van M’s "Bedrock: Compiled & Mixed" compilations. When "Dj Magazine" announced the tune as the underground hit of the year, nothing could stop Moshic’s carrier to expand.
The Moshic mix for John Digweed’s broadcast on Kiss 100, was marked in history. Since then - December 2001 - Moshic has constantly emerged from the underground and finally became its ambassador.
Every day, every week, every month masterpieces like "10@ZE" or the remix of Memnon’s "Locutus" were produced. Year after the Kiss 100 broadcast his "Distorted Patterns" compilation was unearthed. Progressive fans went down to their knees and Moshic was asked to do the Essential Mix that was broadcasted in February of that year. Soon after that his mix was added to the "Dj Mag"'s April issue. This set as well as the Essential Mix, mostly included tracks from not widely known Middle East artists and the world was left without doubts - Moshic is a genius music producer!
In an interview for soundrevolt.com he said: "My main ambitions are to export different kinds of productions that will get special attention on the dance floor. I dislike average music and I'm known for producing with perfection. And I will not go the easy way and sample other people works, 100% Moshic and not a cent less."
A few listenings of his productions or sets are enough to fully understand what the author means. If not remixing, he very often edits the tracks he plays to give them the touch of his unique style; the style filled with darkness and curdling blood energy. The body meekly obeys the perfect sound and fulfills itself in dance, it doesn’t freeze the body.
Till this day, Moshic has produced and released over 60 tracks! But it’s not the end! More are waiting to be published - the fruits of his collaboration with Rui Da Silva to name just a few.
The darkness shines brightly, showing that progressive can still be breathtaking...
About me:
I am Deep Z or Zdravko Hristov, 25 years old, software engineer from Sliven, Bulgaria.
I like all types of music, when i feel the good music i listen it.
The music is in my heart, i live with music in all of my life.
In 1997 I started to listen quality electronic music by producers like Prodigy, Westbam.
Then in 1998 i was inspired by Paul Van Dyk, then Kyau vs. Albert, Fragma,
Kai Tracid, Mauro Picotto, Antiloop. Later i started to listen house / tribal house,
and discovered the progressive house genre. I was inspired of DJ's like D-Phrag, Tarkan,
V-Sag, Guillaume Nyckees, Moshic, Kintar, G-Pal ... and many more.
I felt in love with this music, it's like a drug for me. After i've listened many sets
and tracks by different DJs / producers, i decided to try the magic of the mixing.
I learned how to mix, some friends DJs helped me too. So after long practice
and really hard work i entered in the magical word of the mixing.
My mixes contains melodic proggy house and deep tunes or even oriental
or dark tribal. I want to give you quality music, and hope you'll enjoy.
Yes, thats right. Kintar use some this tracks from the movie *Gladiator* and the music of this film is from Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard, the voice of DCD. Listen to the 1986 album *Treasure* from Cocteau Twins, interesting tracks ;) CheerZ
The 80s, man, the 80s....this was the time with many strange music and bands like Cocteau Twins, The Danse Society and even Dead can Dance...bands that nowbody nows today ;) This song from DCD is one of the greatest, from the last concert 1996: DEAD CAN DANCE - Rakim (live)
No, not a movie. Dead can Dance was a *New Wave* band from the 80th and the early 90th with a great femmale singer with a great voice: DCD - The Host of Seraphim
