Hey guys, sorry its been so long. I know it kind of seems like I'm not around much anymore either. I've been eyeballs deep in the new album. First, I made the album, then my computer crashed and I lost the whole thing. I tried finishing it on my laptop and that didn't go so well.
Well, I just got it back 3 days ago and I'm back in business. I'm almost finished with a demo of the first song and I'm hoping to have it up Friday. The rest will follow.
Anyway, I've got some new pics up just to show you that I'm still alive...also, they're probably going to be the direction of the new album.
Sorry for it taking so long.

07.22.09THE REALLY BIG UPDATE!!
Well, it's 5:21 in the morning and I haven't slept. My stomach's been killing me all night, I don't know what it is. So I got to checking my myspace, trying to catch up with everyone. I haven't been on here much because I've been so busy....so I decided to update the page a little.
So why haven't you heard from me and where I have I been? Working on a new album, that is. I trashed the last one, well quit working on it. I wasn't satisfied with the direction it was going. An entire political album? What was I thinking. I felt like the entire thing was one big rant. Sure, I get pretty heated about the road we've paved for our country, but sometimes...I think we just asked for it. Anyway...about THE NEW ALBUM!!
The new one is very personal to me, about things that I strongly feel. I know I told you I've changed up my style, but don't worry. It's still electronic, it's still got crappy beats and it's still got my voice over it, with an added touch of more screaming (not yelling ;) I've experimented a lot with it, but not over the top and the quality is the best I've ever done. And I'll be posting a single next week, followed by another....and then you'll just have to wait for the whole god forsaken thing!
So when will DBV be back on the road and actually coming to my town this time? Very soon. I'm going to start auditions as soon as I get the new single up and start booking I get the slots filled. Trust me, having to spend the summer at home has sucked for me, too. This time around is going to be epic: NEW TEES and STICKERS, a new sick merch table that will practically hypnotize you and make you buy something, and I'm working on getting all of our shows streaming live. So, if you can't make it to the show or you just want to see what we're up too, you can!
Now it's getting late. But thank you all for sticking by me and supporting me.

I am so sorry guys, but Deep Black Void will be taking short break. Andrew and Shane have both went their separate ways on a new project they are working on. There are no hard feelings because Deep Black Void is in a very constructive state as it is.
Please do not think we are quitting or even thinking of it. We are now auditioning new members and our cd is still underway...however it is going to be an EP now instead of full length. It will be out very soon!
Thank you all for sticking by and supporting us. We love you all.

It's been about a month since I've updated this thing. So, I figured I'd give you guys a little something.
The band has hit hard times, which is the reason I haven't been online much. This economy has really got us down. Each one of us are out of a job right and are struggling...but don't let all of this fool you. We're still 100% into this thing. As soon as we get back on our feet, it's all downhill from there.
I also want to thank all of you who have stuck with us and showed your support. There are also so many individual people I could thank for the great things they've done for us...but you know who you are! You all make us feel really good about everything.
Two new tracks on the way and will be finished very soon. I think you're all going to like them ;)

Yesterday...was a learning experience. We played Plan B in Danville, VA last night and had a great time on stage and with the people that stuck around afterward (and the sound guy there was probably one of the best soundmen I've come across). But we also learned something; as a band, you've GOT to have nice things to be respected and get anywhere. It's sad because I've always been open minded about bands. I don't care what you play on, if you've got a good attitude and potential sounding music, you're in with me.
So here's the deal and I know you're going to hate me for it. We're going to take another break. Not like last time though, we'll still be playing shows here and there. But we've all got to get some "work your a$$ off for cash" jobs. Right now, we get by with just enough money to do shows. Which just isn't enough.
So, in four or five months, Deep Black Void will "return" a new band. I guarantee you won't be able to recognize us. And again, I am sorry for the wait.
Thanks guys! We look forward to playing for you all.

We're back...
Our break is over and we have accomplished all that we had hoped to accomplish. Although, we were hoping to get some new band pics and promos, but I'll guess we'll have to wait. We're used to it. February was really a good month for us, doors opened and some closed, but that's being in a band. Perseverance is key.
We've changed our set-list. We've threw in 3 new songs and took away a few...it's harder, faster, and stronger. We've also made some new tees, you can check them out our merch store. Unfortunately, it looks like you're going to have to buy them at our shows until I can get our paypal fixed.
Our next show is in Danville, VA at Plan B and I have a feeling it's going to be huge! We're stoked and we can't what to see all of you this year.

Well February is nearly over and we're just about ready. We've re-worked our style, added new songs and took out some songs in our live set. This is also the first time we have been satisfied with our music. We finally know what we want to do.
March is going to be great. We'll have new promo pics, possibly new members and hopefully scheduled to go into the studio to lay our tracks down. Money is the only issue right now, but we're working on it ;)
We look forward to meeting you all at our shows in these next few months.

OUR FIRST ENCORE! Jonesville, you guys rocked. We had so much fun with you guys. Tonight was our best show by far. Escape the City(formerly Crisis), lets do it again sometime.
The night really had a turn around though. First, when we got there a "christian" man chastised us for dressing in black and wearing eyeliner. He even called me Lucifer. Then, I was denied service at a gas station for the way I looked. Some people.
But anyway...February we will go into hiding and come out anew. We're getting new equipment and adding new songs! We'll also have a lightshow, as well. Deep Black Void is also a four piece again. We'll have new live pics up of our Jonesville show in a few days and the video.
See you soon.

Yesterday was crazy. We played The Atomic Rocket lounge in Columbia, Tn.
First off, Andrew unexpectedly came down with a virus and Tyler was called in for work, which meant I had to pick up for them. I haven't played guitar for the band in several weeks and it's amazing how quickly it leaves you.
Secondly, the weather was horrible. We we're running a bit late to the venue(saved by time zone, however) and you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you because of the rain. The wind was practically blowing our van as well and it was a battle keeping it on the road. We were also running low on cash and we thought we weren't going to make it.
Zach broke his guitar in Old Business and had to play dbv without a few strings, which ended up in me turning myself up....and the material left me in some parts and I apologize. I promise you we put on a way better show.
We had some issues between us that we should have settled before we got there. I sincerely apologize to anyone that seen our little dilemma after the show. It has been a rough and very stressful week.
On a lighter note: You all we're great. I had a lot of fun with you and we're definitely going to come back.
We also opened for Faith in Shadows. they put on a great show and we're very classy guys(and gal). I later learned that they we're composed of victor whooten kids. I claim to be a bassist more than anything else I play and victor whooten is my idol. I also got to meet Joseph whooten of the whooten brothers as well. joseph is a swell musician and a great guy. I feel very honored.

We just posted our first video session, hopefully the first of many to come. We're going to start filming as much of us on the road and shows that we can so you guys can get to know us better. We're also going to start video updates, as well, for the more important updates of things to come.
To The Luna Bean: We had so much fun with you guys, you all we're amazing. And to every show we've ever had: you all rocked. We haven't had one bad show yet.
Check out our new blog to see our video sessions.

Well the ball drops in about a hour and I haven't got anything planned tonight. I've been so busy lately and too broke to make plans. If you live in our area there is only so much going on, plus I've been trying to put a handle on drinking; it gets the best of me sometimes.
The band is doing amazing. I love this feeling of actually going somewhere. When you put so much into something, watching it pay of makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
We are now a six piece and we've got a lot of new things coming. We've added a keyboardist and effects guy and we will be adding a light show. I figured we'll take a short break in February to get everything ready, perfect our show and then hit hard in March. Every show we've had so far has been trial and error, working out kinks, seeing what works and what doesn't. I just can't wait to reach stability and just let go and let the music do the rest because I can't stand this feeling of not being all we could be. I am a perfectionist.
We're also taking new pics next week to update you guys on the new members. They're all HOT. I promise ;). I've also been thinking about getting our myspace done professionally. I don't know yet.
We also placed 355 on the Reverbnation rock charts, thanks to you guys. It's really exciting. 256 is our all time high, but I think you can take us to top 100 and that will be very soon, I know it. I love you guys.

DBV NOW HAS TWO NEW MEMBERS! Brian Lytle and Zach Whitaker of "Old Business" will now be permanent members of Deep Black Void. They are both amazing musicians and they add so much to the band. We'll have new pics up in early January to show them off.
DEEP BLACK VOID ONLINE STORE!! Our online merch store is now up and running. We're still waiting on tee's to come in but you can pre-order the shirts there. We are now sponsored by 208 INDUSTRIES clothing and we're pretty excited about working with them. So head over to our store by clicking the merch link on our page!

New version of "The Dying Dead" is up. The song was in desperate need of something. We actually getting bored on stage with the old way we we're playing it. Take a listen to it. It's also available for free download on Reverbnation. So run over there and grab. FREE PEOPLE!
But I'm off to bed. Can't wait to see you this summer!

GOOD NEWS!
Eric Lovell of WAITING TO BREAK will be stepping in on drums for us until we can fing a permanent member. We've practiced together already and he is doing amazing! I can't wait to play for you guys this weekend at the Foggy Hollow Music Co. in Jonesville, VA! Finally, Deep Black Void the way I intended it.
We are still booking other shows and it looks like we'll be doing a lot traveling next month. It's going to awesome!

Hey everyone, we just played Cupid's and was great. We had a fun time and the owners we're amazing. If you're in the area, you should definitely check it out, and if you're a local band, you should play there and give our growing music scene some support.
But we're looking to hit full time in January and we need a full-time drummer. I am currently working on a studio quality demo to have done by then and we're working on merchandise right now, as well. We're going to start by booking up winter break right after Christmas and head south and back.
So if you're interested, and you live close, please message us.

Well...our first show blew. First, we lost of our cords and had to steal the cords from the monitors. So, then we couldn't hear the drums and it threw us off greatly. The speakers ended up having to be pushed back so we could hear them and that took forever and really frustrated us and threw us off for the whole night. I really appreciate everyone though for sticking around and cheering us on. That felt really good. We promise to make it up to you.
Next stop: Cupid's in Norton with Old Business (and those guys rocked last night) I look forward to seeing you all there.
David

Well, we're finally out and about now. Sorry it took so long. Right now, we're going to stay local to get everything in order and work the kinks out. Plus, Shane is in school. We hope to be heading south and straight up north in January and keep our summer booked solid. We'll keep you updated and keep an eye out for if we come your way.
Also, we are working on a 5 track demo. Same songs with a couple new ones in studio quality. The tracks up right now were made on my cheap set-up, but now I've got some new toys :) We will be selling them for a buck or 2 at shows and we'll also have the new tracks up in a couple of weeks.
...MERCH!
And we won't have merch on our first show, but we will at Cupids! So be there if you want the first tee designs!
