Deep Haven Music, the brainchild of Minnesota DJ/Remixer Thomas Spiegel (aka DJ Man-X), and partner Curtis Urbina, a New York based music business and publishing veteran. With over 25 years of music industry experience, they bring you a soul label dedicated to the classic sounds of yesterday with the progressive beats of today! Deep Haven Music is a company dedicated to artist development, whether its R&B, Jazz/Blues, Electronic, Lounge, Latin, or Club culture.
Thomas Spiegel has been a staple of the Soulful House Music scene during the past 20 years in Minneapolis. A DJ who made his name at the long-standing club, First Avenue, as well as with his roaming parties under the moniker, House Nation Under A Groove. All this was done while paralleling his music world with his investment-banking career during the 90's, walking on both sides of the Wall Street and Entertainment Media fence. For Deep Haven Productions, Spiegel is now producing and remixing projects for his own company as well as for other artists and labels.
Curtis Urbina, a 25-year music industry veteran, is one of the industry's most dynamic and informative label entrepreneurs and speakers today. He has worked with all of today's major entertainment companies including EMI, Universal, BMG/Sony and Warner Music. Curtis has worked with Kid Rock, Roger Daltry, Ron Wood, Charlie Watts, Deborah Gibson, Bobby Womack, Shannon, Roger Sanchez, Blaze and many more. He has participated in conferences and lectures around the world from MIDEM, to Winter Music Conference and has been quoted in periodicals such as Crain's New York Business, NY Daily News and Billboard Magazine.
Urbina launched several successful club labels, which he owned or co-owned such as Emergency Records and Quark Records. He was one of the first to create opportunities for many of today's leading DJ/ producers such as David Morales, Blaze and Roger Sanchez. Considered an authority Curtis is also Adjunct Professor at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies where he teaches courses "The Music Industry" and "The Business of Music Publishing". It is not uncommon to see music business executives attending his classes.

On Thursday, June 19th, the bi-monthly event that Time Out New York hails as a "full-on throwdown", will return to its new home, NYC hotspot Sullivan Room, to bring you the true global soul experience. Resident DJ Ian Friday will share the turntables with special guest, acclaimed dj, producer, remixer Carlos Mena (Ocha Records). If that weren't enough, vocalist Tamara Wellons will be there to raise the roof when she performs her dance floor fillers "Like Rain" and "Oh Well".
The next Libation will feature live painting by some of NYC's emerging visual artists. Also, expect the electrifying dance collective, Afro Mosaic Soul, to wreck havoc on the dance floor as Libation proves that Thursday is the new Friday!
