I have decided to mix things up a bit by taking a step back from what i've previously done before, by working on some brand new and more innovative material for the last while. Listeners can expect something a lot different, over very different styled beats, but the content will be as deep as ever before. I'm really testing the waters with these tracks, and trying to achieve something personally myself with this new music. A mixtape is in the works and coming soon hopefully, with an official debut album to follow...so stay tuned and connected
About Hip Hop Artist Deep Reasoning (Steven Bonner)
Winter 2003: After endless years of listening to hip hop music, Deep Reasoning came into existence from a mess-about song in 6th year secondary school - where two friends offered the then 17 year old avid rap fan a spot on a hip hop track which they were recording after generating some interest from other classmates who wished to hear more. The music proved a hit with classmates and friends alike and the three guys continued to pen verses about school and life around the tough time of the Leaving Cert, recording these verses live over famous hip hop beats.
Summer 2004: After finishing secondary school Deep Reasoning continued with rapping, which was now far more than just a hobby. He ventured out on his own path developing a passion for rapping and verbal expression and began to write more and more and started to rap over every instrumental he could literally find and began recording songs onto endless tape cassettes in his friends’ house for several months into his 1st year at college.
Summer 2005: After a lot of practice and a lot of networking he came into contact with a friend-of-a-friend David Howard, a local producer who knew how to record things in a professional way and who had a professional set up upon winning a scholarship to Irelands prestigious Pulse Recording Studio. It was then that Deep Reasoning started recording with David Howard and after 2/3 months of recording, D.R’s first CD “The Quintessential LP” was complete. The CD proved a hit with those who heard it despite Deep Reasoning’s own critical view of the CD in hindsight; as many often say about their first CD – it was a start!
Summer 2006: With more professional equipment (Pro Tools etc), the sound quality of the recordings improved drastically which in turn allowed Deep Reasoning’s song “In Dublin” to be part of a double disc compilation CD which reached number 5 in the Irish Compilation Charts, the CD was entitled “Our Space” and a launch party was held at Dublin’s popular venue Radio City. The CD contained up and coming artists from predominantly the South Dublin area.
Summer 2007: Deep Reasoning joined founder of the Irish Undaground, Kounter Kulture (an Irish hip hop initiative designed to promote Irish hip hop music) to collaborate on a Sleepy (Hip Hop producer) beat, for the song “Sparks for Inspiration”, the video can be found on YouTube and Deep Reasoning’s MySpace Page alike.
Spring 2008: Deep Reasoning electronically released an EP entitled Design Through Rhyme containing four songs. This promotional EP was made available for Free Download and proved to be popular despite its highly introspective content.
Summer 2008: Deep Reasoning joined forces in Boston, MA with Boston (Dorwood) and LCN’s “Shaymin” and Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg) and the Funky Bunch’s rapper “Big Ace” who recorded in a South Boston studio together on a track which will hopefully be placed on the new up and coming Deep Reasoning album. Deep Reasoning then collaborated with Revere, Massachusetts’s O-Ry-N the Rebel, founder of the United Front Company, a label which actively supports hip hop artists in the community by offering free studio time at its base, a studio/clothing shop in Revere, Massachusetts. Needless to say it proved to be quite a worthwhile journey across the pond for Deep Reasoning.
Summer 2009, Deep Reasoning took part in the Irish Undaground’s Battle of the Beats at the Kings of Concrete 2009 street showcase held every year at Wood Quay, Dublin by friend and fellow hip hop artist CmX - with all sorts of street performers from break dancers, graffiti artists spreading on canvases, football freestylers, skateboarders, etc.. . Deep Reasoning joined other Irish emcees by rapping over what proved to be the winning beat by hip hop producer SertOne, this video can be found on YouTube by searching “Deep Reasoning”, “Irish Undaground” or/and “Kings of Concrete”.
Present: Deep Reasoning is currently in the process of recording a FREE mixtape, with some exciting upcoming hip hop producers on production. He will then release his official debut album shortly after releasing the mixtape, which will feature some exciting international features and appearances (rappers and producers alike).

**** ella ****
Ella Montclare's beautifully original music is a kinda cross-over between her beloved trip-hop and something altogether more transcendental; the kinda thing you'd get if Morcheeba, Portishead and Dido pooled resources and really went for it!! This is exactly the kinda thing that radio 'jocks' are looking for, especially late at night when the mood is perhaps a little more chilled. 'Between Islands' by Ella Montclare is a kinda leftfield poppy number that could just work its magic and get up there into the charts….
Q. “Between Islands” is the lead single…can you give us some background to the inspiration for it?” A. “Between Islands is very personal to me, because it’s about my cultural background of English, Caribbean and Spanish. Genetically speaking I’m between islands, although I thankfully live on dry land. It’s also about the sense of yearning I think we all have for somewhere to belong. ” READ THE WHOLE INTERVIEW HERE http://www.rocksellout.com/2009/03/19/interviews-ella-montclare/
(single of the week) this could be two or ten minutes long and it wouldn't matter. In fact, the longer the better, actually….if she can maintain this form, an album should be well worth the wait.
