About me: The Deep Roots Music Project, founded in 1998, is committed to positively impacting the lives of young people by engaging them in our innovative, empowering, and sustainable writing program. This life-changing program enlists professional musicians, who draw on the awesome power of music and real-life experience as songwriters, to help students compose their own song lyrics and create their own music CDs. Deep Roots helps participants build strong communities, develop teamwork and project-planning skills, and become more enthusiastic, skilled writers who recognize the unlimited potential of their unique voices.
Since 1998, an inspired cast of young writers at Reynolds High School (Troutdale, Oregon), Roosevelt High School (Portland), and Girls Inc. (Portland), along with hundreds of professional musicians, have produced 20 compilation music CDs containing more than 280 original songs.

morning Chris ~ I was just thinking about Deep Roots the other day - my bf is a high school English teacher at a pretty amazing school (Rosemary POIC). I'm not sure if Deep Roots can be brought to his school and I know you have a zillion things on your plate, but where can he go to get some info? Thanks. PS: doing any runs soon? there's a half marathon by Adidas going on 06/14 that I'm doing :)
