Carl Cox playing "Deeprush" at Nocturnal Wonderland in LA.
The instant you hear the raw, arpeggiated intro you know this is not going to be your ordinary track. By the time the blisteringly loud breakdown is over the dancefloor is at fever pitch. Intense stabs of sound complement what Carl Cox is already calling one of his picks of the year. Jan van Lier's breakout track "Deeprush", slated for a March release on John Acquaviva's Definitive Recordings is quickly looking to become one of the biggest tunes of 2008, but this marks only the beginning for this young Calfornian producer.
Last summer, Jan's blistering track "One Through Seven" was picked up by Loöq Records in SF (Run by Jondi and Spesh), who have since declared it to be something of a dancefloor bomb. It's mixture of techno, progressive, and minimal styles has been receiving big support from Carl Cox on his Global radio show. It is now available from Loöq, with remixes from Dirtyhertz and Momu.
Then, his tunes "Triple 7" and "Freqruption" get picked up by John Acquaviva for his Definitive imprint, and tracklisted on his Electronic podcast. Combine this with remixes for house legend Benji Candelario, Robosonic (from Germany), and others, and you can see why this talented producer/DJ is already being called "The man to push the west coast progressive electro sound in 2008" by Harry Avers, of 365Mag.com.

Sorry for the delay on the March mix, though only 7 of you downloaded last months, so I'm sure nobody is too upset! This months mix has previews of many of my unreleased tunes which I will be promoting and putting out this year, as well as some of my favorite tunes available on beatport. Some standouts are the new Sender record, "Not a Serious Thing" by Marc Antona, and of course the D-Nox and Beckers remix of Luetzenkirchen's "Paperboy" which is just amazing. New Moonbeam is always fun, and I'm really digging Andrea Doria's stuff lately, and "Mainboard" is no exception.
