Deep Valley Orgasm formed in Newport, South Wales, in 1992. The original line-up included - Paul Devine - vocals, Will Hirstle - bass, Jamie Loftus - guitar, and Captain Zeep - drumbot. The eccentric three piece was taken under the wing of the mighty Andy Barding and subsequently put out "Flyblown" the first single on the Frug label. When Will and the Captain moved to Kent, DVO got themselves a real drummer.
A second talented guitarist then joined Deep Valley Orgasm, Clive Burns, who`s entrance made the band sound much harder and Much more Avant-Garde. Shortly after, a more formidable drummer appeared in the shape of John Barnes (who went on to play with the glorious Headcleaner and, astonishingly, Kylie!?)
Deep Valley Orgasm continued to garner a reputation as a genuinely unsettling if very messy live act, using multi-media, massage and food items during their shows. DVO gigs were described as being within the "event" category. Having put "Lacey" on the seminal I Was A Teenage Gwent Boy album along with such luminaries as 60ft Dolls and Novocaine, they split in 1996 as Paul was coerced into moving back to East Anglia. Since 2004, three of the original members; Messrs. Devine Loftus and Burns have been writing and recording new material (including Whitebeard) which, along with archive tracks, is due for release this year.
